Reviewed Chipotle-Mango BBQ Chicken

Jul 29, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This were FANTASTIC! But I had to substitute a few things... I accidentally bought parsley and not cilantro so that flavour was seriously lacking. Also i could not find chipotle peppers in my store and substituted some smokey tang sauce sauce in the Caribbean. I also added a garlic herb sauce from Sunny Carabee as well. I didn't put any extra"

Great snack, even good cold the next day. Might try with bacon, with dates etc. Lots of ideas coming up from this :"

Reviewed Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake

Mar 9, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Taste was great! I made this for a friend who does not eat any dairy. First of all they did not rise enough to have tops that I could cut off, so i just put a strawberry slice on top, piped out my icing and topped with another strawberry. Presentation was adorable. Also since I used coconut oil for my icing it was hard to find a good temperat...

Reviewed Caramelized Vidalia Onion and Potato Gratin with Fresh Sage

Mar 9, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I thought I'd miss cheese in this recipe. Nope! It was super rich and very flavourful! It did take a bit longer to cook since I don't have a mandolin so my slices were a bit thick, but it was fine in the oven for a bit longer.""

Goat cheese makes everything better.""

Reviewed Roast Beef with Spicy Parsley Tomato Sauce

Dec 29, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Didn't find the sauce that spicey and the vinegar was a bit much. But overall this was nice.""

Reviewed Apple Banana Tart with Warm Maple Syrup

Dec 29, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The maple syrup makes this pie. Without it it's kind of bland. Also I too had to cook it for much longer than called for. It was interesting though and I don't regret making it, and it did get goggled up pretty quickly. Just not sure if I'd bother making it again since I have so many other tried and true recipes...""

Reviewed Cheesecake Petit Fours with Creamy Strawberry Glaze

Dec 29, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

What a disaster! I wasn't able to use the cookie cutters easily enough and ended up just glazing a whole pre-made cheesecake. Granted I didn't have many options for chessecakes and a thinner one might have been easier t work with.""

Reviewed Cracked Pepper Potato Chips with Onion Dip

May 29, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Burnt the chips and the dip was too onion-y for me - and i like onion. Not going to bother trying again."

Reviewed Spicy Crab Cakes with Lemon Aioli Sauce

May 1, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe was good and I enjoyed the panko crumbs. But the Lemon aioli was a bit too lemony for me."

Reviewed Irish Soda Bread (with Raisins

Apr 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I had never made or had Irish Soda Bread before. It was good - but not necessarily something I see myself making again. Plus the hubby didn't like the raisins OR the caraway in this bread so for him it was a complete bust."

Reviewed Sweet Nutty Popcorn Treats

Apr 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The idea is good but somehow I find it falls short. Also I accidentally "burnt" the chocolate when mixing it into the sugar... I should have acted quicker. Oh well. "

Reviewed Cheesecake with Praline Sauce

Mar 13, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I've made many cheesecakes and this one was probably the easiest. And still turned out fabulous! It's a heavier cake though unlike some that are nice and fluffy. The problem with this recipe is the praline sauce. It was like thick candy with little flavour. Disappointing. I made this with low fat cream cheese which was fine, but for the sour...

Reviewed Chicken and Rice Casserole

Mar 13, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Good base recipe for a casserole. Next time I'd use fresh veggies instead of canned. Also I like the other reviewers that have tried it with other condensed cream soup flavours, I might try that myself. The best part of this casserole though is the water chesnuts that add a crunch and the cheese. I'd add more cheese on top next time."

Reviewed Almost-Famous Pumpkin Cheesecake

This was probably the best textured cheesecake I've ever made. Although we couldn't eat it because I made one fatal mistake. I did wrap the pan in foil before placing it in the water, but I did not make sure that it was sealed - so the water got in and my crust boiled in it! What a disgusting result to the crust. But the filling set perfectly...

Reviewed Peach Cobbler

Jan 9, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Made this easily enough and it's very yummy I didn't know if I should have used salted or unsalted butter so I used salted - I could taste the saltiness at the bottom of the cobbler and since I like a salty sweet combination it was an added yumminess.
