Made this for Valentine's Day dinner :) It's worth all the fuss... tons of flavor, and great reheated too!"

I halved the recipe. My batter was very thick after I added the flour on the stove, so I am not sure why people are having difficulty with thin batter. I used 1 extra-large egg to get around having to use 1.5 large eggs. As other reviewers suggested, I added some extra spice to the batter and some shredded cheddar, too. The texture was very c...

Yum! Super flavorful."

Reviewed Flat Iron Steak with Red Wine Sauce

Jun 27, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made the sauce with chianti. Like others, I reduced it by more than half. I used less butter than it called for. I definitely needed to taste and adjust for salt and pepper - my sauce was too salty/bitter, so I stirred in some agave nectar near the end. I fried my flat iron steaks, and it was great."

This will be my go-to roasted asparagus recipe from now own. Simple and delicious. The lemon zest really brightened it up and gave it a fresh taste."

Very delicious! I don't have a round cookie cutter, so I used a fluted square cutter. I also sprinkled the top with cinnamon sugar instead of plain cinnamon. It was easy to halve this recipe to make it for two. My boyfriend wolfed his down and then scraped the crumbs off his plate."

Reviewed Chicken Piccata

Jun 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was very tasty. I love chicken piccata. Giada must have used this recipe for giant chicken breasts - I agree with other reviewers that this recipe calls for more lemon juice and oil than necessary. Also, I would go easy on salt - I tend to salt sauces as they cook, and once I added the super salty capers, my dish was almost too salty. "

Reviewed Cajun Rice With Sausage

Jun 13, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I really liked this. The texture was very interesting and mine had plenty of kick without the Tabasco sauce mentioned by the previous reviewer. I made it with just a few modifications:

-I could not find chicken sausage. Instead I bought pre-cooked turkey kielbasa, so instead of adding it with the veggies to saute, I added it...

Reviewed Chili Lime Fish Fry

Jun 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is delicious, except I wouldn't suggest "topping with lots of lime juice" - I found that just a few spritzes would be best - maybe serve with lime wedges for applying your own lime juice to taste. I drizzled just a little bit right over the fish and it was overpowering - way too tart. This recipe would have gotten another star if it weren't"

YUM! The only change I made was to use 1 cup of all-purpose flour and a 1/2 cup of wheat flour (instead of 1 and 1/2 cups regular). Definitely don't skip the lemon!"

This is very yummy. It tastes very fancy.
Notes:
- I didn't have fresh basil, so I subbed with a bunch of dried basil, oregano, and some garlic powder.
- I didn't have spaghetti, but it was good with rigatoni, too.
- I added shrimp ... yummy!"

I made these because they looked easy. My neighbor, who has a cookie business, tried them and loved them so much she made them the next day. Then, her neighbor tried those and made them the next day for her Memorial Day picnic, where a bunch more neighbors asked for the recipe. Needless to say, they were a hit! The texture is dense, so they ke"

LOVE this recipe.
I made this with tilapia instead of halibut to save money. It's still crazy delicious. One of my favorite sandwiches ever. I also like it with spinach instead of arugula, which can be harder to find for me. I had to search around for sundried tomatoes, too, but they're worth it."
