Reviewed Pumpkin Seed Dried Cherry Trail Mix

"I made this trail mix a few weeks ago when I saw it on TV. I put it in snack bags and took it with us on a trip. Also, gave some to a friend who was recovering from surgery. We love this trail mix so much I am making some more today. My friend sent a thank you and said she loved everything in her goodie bag, especially the seed/nut packets. I""

Reviewed Super Yummy Chocolate Chunk Oatmeal Cookies

"Wow! When I saw Anne making these cookies on her show, my mouth fell open in amazement. This recipe is almost identical to a recipe I came up with (I thought) and have been making for a while. I love Anne's cookie recipe and would have never thought about adding the salt on top! What a difference a little salt makes, right? My cookies have dr""

Reviewed Grilled Vegetable Salad with Feta and Mint

"Ellie, I love your show and I am trying a lot of your recipes. Just tried the grilled veggie salad and loved it, but my husband wasn't crazy about it. About Me

My house is empty, except for my husband so I have plenty of time to cook, watch Food Network and try out new recipes.  I consider myself a "Self-Made Chef."  I started early because my mother was a wonderful cook and she allowed me in her kitchen to experiment with cooking.  That experience created in me a love for cooking that has grown stronger through the years.

I have always enjoyed cooking and creating recipes or changing then to make them my own.  I wish now that I had spent my college money on a good culinary school, instead of a degree in social welfare. "Cooking" is one of my passions and its what I love to do more than anything else.  Go Figure!

My husband is a lucky man.  He calls me his "gourmet chef" and enjoys my wonderfully, delicious dishes daily.

Favorite Foods

I love and enjoy the flavors of Mediterranean and use them alot.  Anything, Mediterranean, Italian I love, love, love.  I also love and enjoy the flavors of Southwestern or Mexican.  I lived in Texas and California in my early married years and those Southwestern influences hit me early and I am so glad they did. I am always cooking something Italian or Mexican.

I am known for my Greek Salad with lemon and olive oil dressing. My favorite restaurant is my own kitchen where I know the food is good.

On the sweet side, I love fresh fruits and anything chocolate.
