Reviewed slow-cooker pulled pork sandwiches

Nov 11, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Wonderful! I would absolutely make this again. I had to shorten the cooking time to 7 hours so I did the last hour on high. I agree with other reviewers that this makes more than 4 servings. I estimate you could get about 10 sandwiches from this recipe.

In other words, this recipe makes approximately 24 three-inch empanadas!

I made these for a party and got rave reviews. I used Pillsbury prepared pie crust. As others said, you should roll out the prepared dough so it's thinner then it comes out of the box. Use a full tablespoon of filling for each empanada. The technique described in the recipe doesn't really work. You have to place the empanada in your palm, fill...

Reviewed Three Bean and Beef Chili

Jan 22, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

We love this chili recipe and have made it twice, it's very easy to make and not time consuming. Both times we followed the suggestions of other reviewers and used low-sodium beef broth instead of water. We also let it cook for MUCH longer than the recipe calls for (also at the suggestion of earlier reviews). Let the chili simmer for at least an...

Reviewed Planked Salmon with Honey-Balsamic Glaze

Outstanding! This is my go-to salmon recipe. I made it with the planks the first time but each time since just baked in the oven. It's great either way.

Reviewed Pork Tenderloin with Chimichurri

Dec 3, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

Followed the recipe as written and grilled the meat. Unfortunately, it wasn't that good. The meat was dry and lacked any flavor. I want to try this one again based on the rave reviews from so many others and the fact that you rarely go wrong with a Tyler Florence recipe. Next time, I will let the pork marinade for a longer period of time and will...

Reviewed Herb-Marinated Pork Tenderloins

Dec 3, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

Very good! Let your pork marinade as long as possible as suggested in the recipe. My only negative comment about the recipe as written - you can not serve this to anyone using the recommended cooking time/temp. Yes, yes, yes, I know pork is safe now at lower internal temps, but it looks disgusting. Allow a longer cooking time and you will have...

Reviewed Old School Sweet Potato Souffle

Wonderful addition to our Thanksgiving dinner. We will make this again before next Thanksgiving, our 5 year old picky eater loved it as did everyone else. I must admit I had my doubts based on the photo of this dish on the website, which does not look appealing. It actually looks much better when you make it and it tastes great.

Reviewed Pear and Cranberry Crostata

Dec 3, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

Have made it 3 times now. The pears, cranberry and cinnamon combo make it a wonderful fall/winter dessert. This is the way we liked it best: 1. Only use Bosc pears as directed, they stay firm while cooking and are not as juicy so your crust will not get soggy, 2. increase the amount of cranberries, 3. combine the pears, cranberry and most of...

Reviewed Autumn Fruit and Frisee Salad with Panettone Croutons

Dec 3, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

We have made this salad several times now, the first time strictly according to the recipe, the last few times with adjustments. The amount of oil as listed is way too much - you only need 2 Tablespoons, otherwise you will have a tasteless dressing. The combination of dried fruits is perfect for a pork tenderloin dinner. The salad tastes great...

I'm a big fan of Ina, but we didn't care for this one. It didn't seem like it was tested to me. It was VERY salty. And yes, I did use Kosher salt and followed the recipe exactly as posted. Perhaps it is the quantity of salt together with the quantity of raw onion. I think I will try it again, but will have to experiment with proportions. Not "
