My Activity

Reviewed Refrigerated Banana Pudding

"I'm glad I read the reviews and was therefore cautious with the banana liqueur. I bought the "weakest" banana liqueur I could find and used only 2 ounces to pour over the vanilla wafers. The taste was terrible! I threw out the liqueured wafers and used plain ones instead. Otherwise, I followed the recipe and it turned out delicious."

Reviewed Chicken, Chorizo and Tortilla Stoup (Stew-like Soup

"Wonderful! The only modifications I made were using half a can of kidney beans instead of a whole can, and I also added some salt and Worchestershire sauce to make it more savory. Without the condiments, it is a bit sweeter than I expected, so that's why I added the salty stuff, but next time I won't add salt unless it still tastes sweet to me wit"

Reviewed Chicken Fried Steak

"This is delicious! I couldn't find any fresh thyme at the store worth buying, and I had to learn the hard way that my range needs to be on medium as opposed to medium-high, but otherwise I followed the recipe and it turned out beautifully! Wouldn't change a thing."

Reviewed Homemade Granola Bars

"After eating commercially prepared so-called "protein" bars for too long, I did a google search to make my own. These popped up and they are fantastic! The only thing I had to change was the almond amount -- I only had half a cup, so I just added another half cup of oats. I wouldn't change a thing about these! "

Reviewed Baked Hush Puppies

"Really tasty and super easy. I did make some tweaks -- took the suggestion to use crumbled feta, but only used 2 oz. I also only did 1/4 cup of minced onions, as well as just a touch of less salt. I also only had white corn meal, but it still turned out a good color. I think I could even forgo the feta next time. Also, I did not have a mini muffin"

Reviewed Five Spice Beef and Pepper Stir-Fry

"Excellent! I left out the scallions and almonds because I like to keep the main ingredients in stir-fry to a minimum, but all the right flavors are here. Definitely a keeper!"

Reviewed Buttermilk Baked Chicken

"I'm sure this is really good if you have an oven and meat thermometer you can trust. I apparently do not have either of these. Too bad because all the right flavors are here. Will try again with a new meat thermometer. Cannot do anything about the oven!"

Reviewed Shortcake

"I'm guessing "3/4 teaspoon salt" should be "3/4 teaspoon kosher salt" and "2 tablespoons butter" should be "2 tablespoons unsalted buuter" because these turned out like salty pretzels. Had to go in the trash."
