Reviewed The Ultimate Barbecued Chicken

Jul 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The brine made the chicken tender and moist, make sure you don't skip that very important step! I find most BBQ sauce recipes are always a little off so I was skeptical of this one. I didn't have any bacon so I left it out and it was still one of the best BBQ sauces i've ever eaten! I found the setting up of the grill for only 10 mins of cooking t"

Reviewed Mini Memphis Burgers

Mar 25, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I was skeptical about this recipe because it looked so plain & simple, but these were some of the best seasoned burgers i've ever eaten. They were delicious! Next time I will make them as regular sized burgers as my family didn't like the sliders size, but they tasted great!!"

Reviewed Buttermilk Pecan Pancakes with Mamma Callie's Syrup

Mar 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I've never made homemade pancakes before but these were amazing! They were so light and fluffy & they were very easy to make. I also made the syrup & I have to say its better than any bottled syrup i've ever eaten....I am going to start making it by the bottle to keep in the house, I will deff be making both of these on a regular basis!"

Reviewed Southern Biscuits

Mar 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were the best homemade biscuits i've ever had. I had to add an extra tblsp of butter bc it was a little dry as I was mixing the ingredients but they were great, I will never buy canned biscuits again!"

Reviewed Pat's Famous Beef and Pork Chili

Mar 13, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This chili was the best i've ever had, hands down. I couldn't find chipotle chili powder so I used chipotle chili pepper instead and it worked just as well. It had the perfect spice to it without being overwhelming. I also put 2 cans of kidney beans & I can of black beans because I didn't think there were enough beans for the amount of meat there...

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I saw this on TV the other day and I just had to try it, it looked so delicious. I will say i'm giving this dish 4 stars strictly because the chicken was just that good! I didn't have panko bread crumbs so I used regular bread crumbs and crushed up corn flakes to give it a crunch. I also fried them on the stove just until the breading was slightly...

Reviewed Succotash Salad

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I changed it up a little & used frozen lima beans as well as 1 can of green beans & 1 can of corn & a few chopped carrots sauteed in jalapeno juice to give it a little kick because I didn't have tomatoes or a bell pepper. I followed the dressing recipe exactly. It needed a little salt as it was kind of bland, but otherwise it was great & I will be...

Reviewed Smoked Cider Brisket

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was my first time making brisket so I accidently bought corned beef brisket instead of a regular brisket and I didn't realize it until I already did the brine so mine was a little salty but my family likes it that way, double check at the store on what you're buying. I cooked it in my smoker all afternoon & finished the last hour 1/2 in the oven,...

Reviewed Roasted Potato Wedges

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These potatoes are the best i've ever had, they were large so it ended up making about 16 wedges! Instead of measuring anything out I just laid the potatoes on a hot pan & drizzled the olive oil and seasonings over them so they would be equally seasoned. I had Corky's dry rub seasoning in my cabinet so I used it instead of the Neelys. Between 4 of...

Best chocolate chip cookies i've ever eaten! This recipe was so easy and I didn't have to make any changes, its absolutely perfect. Reviewed Shelbi's Butter Cookies

Dec 16, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I can honestly say this is the first Neely's recipe I haven't loved. These cookies were even more bland than regular sugar cookies, I was so disappointed. They had absolutely no taste to them, I had to load them with homemade buttercream icing before anyone in my house would eat them and I ended up throwing most of them away. I would deff say skip...

Reviewed Craisy Oatmeal Cookies

Dec 16, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These cookies were a lot better than other oatmeal cookie recipes i've tried. However, they were not even close to sweet enough. I thought the addition of rosemary would be horrible, but it turned out to work great. I didn't use cranberries, but next time I will try adding chocolate chips! The only change was I made the brown butter icing from "Paula's...

Reviewed Easy Pizza Sauce

Dec 2, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I'm SO GLAD I read the reviews before I made this sauce!! I only used about 1/4 c of olive oil and 1/3 c of water to make the perfect pizza sauce consistency, if I would have followed this recipe the sauce would have been way too runny! So if you do make this I suggest adding a little olive oil & water until it gets to the consistency you like. I...

As I was putting this lasagna together I wasn't sure how it was going to taste with the eggs and cottage cheese mixture, but it was the best lasagna I have ever eaten.
