My Activity

Reviewed Chicken-Zucchini Alfredo

"This was very good and a nice alternative to a heavy cream pasta dish. I marinated my chicken in a cajun marinade and grilled it as well as the zucchini before tossing it all together. Added a little extra parmesan as well. This was yummy & a great dish if you are craving creamy pasta but do not want all the calories of butter & cream. I forwarded"

Reviewed Baked Penne with Roasted Vegetables

"Giada does it again with this amazing dish! Definitely split this in half if only cooking for two, it makes A LOT! I made it healthier with reduced fat cheese, protein plus pasta & no butter, & it was still amazing. First time using herbs de provence, which adds great flavor. Also made this with Giada's recipe for marinara sauce. A great make-ahead dish as well. Thanks Giada!"

Reviewed Baked Shrimp Scampi

"This is the first bad review I have ever written. I was so disapointed with this recipe, especially after all the good reviews. I made this as is with a little less butter. However, the garlic & shallot flavor is so overpowering. I feel like maybe it is due to the 10-12 minute cook time, which is not enough time to fully cook or meld all the flavors together. Either way, I will not be making this again and also learned a valuable lesson...do not try new recipes out on guests, which is what Ina actually mentions in her video. Oh well!

Reviewed Vegetable Meatloaf with Balsamic Glaze

"This has amazing flavor and the best meatloaf I have ever had! The only change I made was to add an onion to the vegie mix. My bf thought the balsamic glaze (probably the best part of this recipe) tasted like dessert. We even enjoyed this as leftovers! The only negative comment is that it was a lot of prep and took me a good hour before it was ready to go in the oven. Even though we were starving by the time it was ready, it was so worth it. I will definitely be making this again, will just be sure to give myself extra prep time.

Reviewed Cioppino

"I made this as a surprise for my boyfriend who loves cioppino (he orders it out a lot). He was so impressed and said it was the best he's ever had. I used clams, mussells, shrimp and sea bass (all fresh-it makes a difference) and used a combination of fish stock (found it at whole foods) and clam juice. This is definitely a dish to make if you would like to make a good impression, it was easy to make and tasted great!

Reviewed Molten Chocolate Cakes with Raspberries and Cream

"I was surprised how easy these are! I decided to try and dump the cake out of the ramekin onto the plate before serving. I think the best way is to loosen around the sides with a knife and dump the ramekin upside down (carefully and slowly). Also make sure to butter the ramekin liberally and sprinkle with a little sugar before adding the chocolate. I think this made for a better presentation and it was more impressive when the chocolate oozed out onto the plate. The BF was very impressed...will definitely make again!
