Reviewed Pasta With Garlic and Oil (Aglio E Olio)

"For those of you who think the garlic is too much, if you slice the garlic instead of mincing it, it will have less strong of a flavor. My husbands family has been preparing it for years. We also incorporate some pignoli or walnuts in the last minute to bump up the protein. Also, we just fry the garlic until golden and add it all at once, not a lit..."

Reviewed Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookies

"Second attempt was much better results. The Butter and Cream Cheese at Room Temp are a must, as well as beating them together for several minutes with a hand mixer. I used a wooden spoon to mix in the batter. I used the yellow cake mix with lemon extract and divided the batch into two. One I used Heath toffee bits and the other got dried crandberries, both were rolled in the confection sugar. My husband has been begging for more since we ran out. I also baked a batch of Devils Food with walnuts and chocolate chips and rolled them in chocolate sugar before rolling in the confection sugar. This gave a nice sheen on the outside. In the oven exactly 12 minutes, they cracked as in the photo and both batches received rave reviews. Next batch will be red velvet. Would love to hear from people for ideas for add in's for the red velvet if they have made them.

Reviewed Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookies

"I used German Chocolate Cake mix, with 1/2 tsp vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon almond extracts, added 1/2 cup chopped walnuts and 1/2 cup toffee bits. Tasted like chocolate amaretto! as previously noted a very "cake like cookie" but very delicious. Also, at 12 minutes the cookies never "cracked". I used a shot glass to flatten them and wonder if that is why they didn't crack. They do firm up a bit as they sit and I was able to pack up a batch for hubby to take to work, but it was work getting them off the cookie tray in one piece. Next time I'll Pam spray the tray even though the recipe calls for an ungreased tray. Very gooey batter. I used plastic gloves and still it was messy. Also, I suggest you use less than a teaspoon of dough as the batter spreads out unless you want a large cookie. Also, you really need two inches between or you're cutting the cookies apart! Next time I'll do a smaller size. I will experiment with other kinds of combinations.
