In Detroit, these are called Coney Islands (chili dogs!) It is a natural casing hot dog on a steamed bun, topped with beanless thick beef chili, onions, and yellow mustard. Jannypan - I agree with the others; you really don't know what you're talking about. National Coney Island does serve a hamburger only sandwich, but it's called a Coney Hamburger....

Actually, Ida said right at the beginning that where most people are familiar with the mayo-based potato salads, that the French (and yes, German, which has much vinegar and bacon as well) are usually dressed with Vinaigrette along with many fresh herbs.

The items in this are a wonderful combination! We used to make Mock Angel Food Squares at Girl Scout camp. Dip day-old Italian Bread (decrusted and cubed.) Dip into the Sweetened Condensed Milk and then cover with the coconut. Put on campfire sticks and brown over the flames. (Not everyone like S'Mores! lolllllllllllll)

I missed the tomatoes in the given recipe. For a short-cut version, I rough fork-mash the ripe Avocado and then will add Medium Hot Pace "Picante Sauce" (NOT Salsa), which already contains all the traditional ingredients. These were excellent - I added fresh lime wedges for a last minute squeeze at serving time.
