Reviewed Creamed Kale with Caramelized Shallots
"this was my first time cooking Kale, and this was SO GOOD. my whole family loved it. you do get a lot of pots dirty, but it's worth it. I steamed the kale, instead of boiling it, and it was perfect. also, i added red peppers when i carmalized the shallots and that was awesome!"
Reviewed Empanada Dough
"This recipe was NOT worth the effort.. the end result just tasted like a corn tortilla. My husband is from Argentina, so i've had many empanadas and the dough is nothing like this. Also and 8 in circle is WAY TOO big! we're not asking for a tortilla recipe!!
Reviewed Spaghetti with Lion's Head Meatballs
"this was So good!! used rice instead of spaghetti, cause it just seemed to go better. to the person talking about 'family meals' you are truly 'out of it'! Of course your kids will not try new things, you are raising them with their head in the sand. if you want family meals, i'm sure you can just 'search' family meals and the website will provide a large amount of things you wuld like. don't hate on what you don't try....
Reviewed Mango Cheesecake with Basil Lemon Syrup
"everyone that tasted these loved them...but i could see some room for improvement... i did not like the ricotta..i think it made the cheesecake bland..i would prefer the tanginess of cheese cream alone... also next time i would use a larger pan because the cake was very tall... the lemon basil syrup was AMAZING!!!
Reviewed Sugar Cookies
"in the end the flavor was good, but they were hard to work with... i wasn't able to roll them out without a sticky mess, so in the end, i just made small dough balls and flattened them with my hand, then cut the shape I wanted. thanks for the posted advice about taking them out when they don't look done yet, they were perfect! i can see how people might accidently over cook them
Reviewed Cocoa Brownies
"AMAZING!!! some how rich, yet light and fluffy at the same time! (probably from sifting everything, which I thought was annoying, but now I see its worth it)
Left it in about 3-4 minutes longer than recipe said and turned the oven to 325 for the last 4 min cuz i was getting impatient. I also took it out very slightly under-done and allowed it to cool completely = max ooey-gooey goodness!!
I'm not sure why others had problems..... Thanks Alton!
