Reviewed Turkey Meatloaf Squares with Sweet Potatoes

Dec 4, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

This was great! I followed the directions except in 2 ways: I used regular breadcrumbs instead of panko and I sauted diced onions instead of using grated ones. The flavor was excellent and even better the next day. I highly recommend pairing the meatloaf and sweet potatoes as suggested because they go very well together. I especially appreciated...

This was great, but I made a few changes that I will keep next time. It only needed 1/2 of that dressing, which cut the calories in half too. And I served it with the salad on the side, rather than under it, topped with cherry tomatoes, a few toasted almonds, and a little of the pasta's dressing. The combo was pretty as well as tasty -- the sal"

Excellent. Only made 2 subs: cinnamon for nutmeg and Panko for fresh breadcrumbs. True keeper. "

Jul 8, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Made for a 4th of July party and it was a hit. Excellent flavors. I used diced smoked turkey but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Definitely a keeper. I assembled all but the lettuce and tomatoes the night before and added the salad part at the last minute--good idea. Beautiful recipe. Also as a side dish, it probably serves about 15 people....

This was excellent! I made it for a picnic and it traveled well. Next time, I'm going to leave out the olive oil in the dressing because it tasted fantastic without it. Also, I didn't want to buy honey mustard because I never use it, so I substituted 2 tbl dijon mustard + 2 tbl honey + a tiny dot of mayo and the flavors were excellent. I used di"

Reviewed Roast Pork With Creamy Peas

Apr 8, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Amazing!! Made this for Easter lunch. I only did a few things differently: I did not wash off the rub (why would you wash off that yummy rub??) and I pureed the peas in a food processor with half the cream (I used half and half) and half the butter. I am keeping both changes; searing the pork in a nonstick meant the brown sugar didn't burn at al...

Reviewed Chile-Chicken Posole

Feb 13, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was an excellent winter soup/stew. I made the prep really easy by pureeing all of the veggies (except the hominy) -- skipping the saute -- and putting everything in a crock pot on low for 10 hours. I also added 2 bone-in chicken breasts, which were very affordable, and shredded the meat at the end of the cooking process. Healthy, delicious,...

Reviewed Goat Cheese, Lentil and Brown Rice Rolls

Sep 25, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Excellent recipe! I changed just a few small things to add flavor: I cooked long grain (not quick cooking -- too bland brown rice in the rice cooker with 1/2 water and 1/2 chicken broth (I'm not a vegetarian and a packet of sazon by Goya that I had left over. It turned the rice a beautiful orange and gave it a kick. I made the lentils with a brot...

Mar 7, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Amazing, impressive, wonderful flavor! Definitely worth the effort. I used twice the amount of ricotta because the mixture seemed dry and I also added about 1 tbl of marinara to the spinach mixture as well. I'm going to keep these changes & this recipe. Excellent! "

Reviewed Turkey Meatballs in Tomato Sauce

Nov 30, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I love Nigella's food -- always flavorful, simple, and enjoyable. But this was awful. The sauce was watery and thin, lacked flavor, and was uninspiring. The meatballs were also fairly bland and, since they cooked by the steam of the sauce, also lacked an appetizing texture. I would not make this again.

This was great! I used chicken cut into strips instead of shrimp and followed the other reviewers' suggestion of using 1/2 c of tomato sauce instead of 1 c and that was perfect. Nothing spilled out or ran over like the others are saying -- one note is not to overfill.

Excellent, quick, flavorful! Used French bread and loved the crunch it gave. Mine wasn't watery at all. Baked in little individual casserole dishes -- pretty dish to make.
