These were excellent however you must be careful not to over cook them. I tried both cutting them thin and thick and I prefer the thicker cut. It tasted more like a cake than a cookie.

Like almost everyone has said this makes a huge amount. The flavors were good however this sauce has a very thick texture. I took it to a BBQ and my son and husband loved it however not very many people even tried it because of the way it looked. I probable won't ever make it again which it not true of most of Ina's recipes.

The is by far one of the best cakes from Ina's recipes. I make this cake every 4th of July and am just about ready to go in the kitchen and make it again. You will not be disappointed if you make this cake.
