@rosputko - Definitely do not use heavy cream. Buttermilk is the liquid left after butter is made so it is actually a very lowfat milk, heavy cream is the exact opposite. If you google "buttermilk substitutes", there are easy replacements to use that involve regular milk and vinegar. Hope that helps.""

This recipe was AMAZING, it made the moistest darkest yummiest chocolate cake. However I made the mistake of using Starbucks instant coffee in the frosting and it made it more like a mocha frosting instead of a chocolate frosting, so I would recommend that you definitely don't use a very strong instant coffee in the frosting.
