Great pot roast!

Has anyone tried finishing the cooking in a slow cooker instead of the oven? I'm wondering if that would be a possibility in the summer when I hate to run the oven for hours. I'm thinking after slow cooking, I could thicken up the gravy on the stove top. What do you think?

Wow! Really delicious! I'm a bit more of a garlic wimp, so I couldn't bring myself to use TEN cloves in the potato topping, but otherwise I stuck with the recipe. Very well received all around.

BTW, we are all so indebted to the food vocabulary police to know that this should be called COTTAGE pie. I'm sure we will all sleep better...
