I've made this twice now. The first time, I followed the recipe to a tee. The vegetables were too undercooked and the family didn't like it. This time I sauteed the veggies just until they were tender. I also used rotisserie chicken (huge time saver and instead of cayenne pepper, I used Tony Chacherie's cajun seasoning. It's much better this time....

Although we enjoyed the recipe, I did cut back the red pepper flakes in half and it was still nearly too spicy for the kids to eat. I think I will cut back the flower next time too since it ended up incredibly thick. It was super tasty though, but I can't imagine how spicy it would have been with the full amount of red pepper."
