Reviewed Foolproof Standing Rib Roast

"I had never made prime rib before and searched extensively on line. I settled on this recipe and made it for Christmas dinner. It was perfect. I followed the directions exactly and used sea salt for the house seasoning and rubbed about 1 heaping tablespoon of the seasoning mix on a 7 lb. roast. My guests and family were impressed beyond words. My only dilemna was cooking potatoes without opening the oven at all. I did not want to bake potatoes in the microwave. I ended up steaming very small red, white and blue new potatoes and seasoning them with butte rand salt and tossing with sour cream just before serving. They were a great match.
