Reviewed pat's famous beef and pork chili

We loved this chili. We subbed a rich, dark beer (sorry don't recall which one) and always throw in some dark chocolate to chili. Really nice recipe Neelys!

Reviewed lemon chicken breasts

Mar 9, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Really delicious - after tweaks based on others reviews. I began with 3 bone in chicken breasts with skin.

After tasting the sauce (before putting it in the baking dish), it seemed way too tart and I didn't even use lemon zest, just freshly squeezed lemons. So, I did add probably 2+ T. honey, and wisked, along with 1/2 box of chicken...

Reviewed peppercorn chicken with lemon spinach

Jan 24, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This is a really good, easy recipe. I overdid the salt, maybe the dijon had enough salt in it. I pounded my chicken breasts to ~ 1 inch thickness and still had to cook them approx. 20 mins at 350.

I subbed Sherry for the recommended alcohol and added mushrooms to the sauce. Skipped the spinach because we are out of that. Do try...

Reviewed Shrimp Boil

Oct 28, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

This was very very good. Next time, I will double the crab boil because it just wasn't as spicy as we like. I missed the kielbasa. It is a good solid recipe and makes a beautiful presentation. The broth is very good, but could use a little more heat for our tastes. Thanks Food Network Kitchen!

Reviewed Quick and Easy Pizza Dough

Jun 25, 2013 in null on Food.com

Great pizza dough recipe! At the advice of other reviewers, I put all ingredients in the Kitchenaid mixer for 5 minutes to "knead" it, I also added the 1 tsp. each of onion powder, garlic powder, thyme and majoram as suggested by another reviewer. I opted to cook my crust, after brushing it with olive oil for ~ 10 minutes before putting the pizza...

Made this for a dinner party upon fist try, which is always a mistake. I couldn't determine the proper cook time based on conflicting info from reviewers and the recipe stated, so I overcooked it it came out super dry. Had I made a sauce, it would have remedied this dryness, I think. I doubled the prosciutto di Parma as some suggested, too. All i"

I love Emeril, however, this grouper recipe just seemed to lack flavor. Sorry, Emeril. "

This is a delicious way to poach salmon, thanks Emeril. My Salmon took about 5 minutes longer to cook. Flaky, delicious with an understated lovely favor. Prosecco subbed nicely for Champagne. "

Reviewed Marinated Chicken Breasts

Feb 10, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a super-good, solid recipe. As others suggested, I pounded the breasts to about 1/2 in thickness. I used aged balsamic for the vinegar, and skipped the freezing step. After marinating for 3-ish hours, I cooked the breasts on the George Forman grill. I collected the "drippings" and made a sauce, adding a pat of butter, 1/4-1/2 c of Chardon"

This is an excellent dish! Great flavors and tender. I cooked the skewers on the George Forman grill. The sauce is wonderful too. What a nice alternative to herb rubbed and roasted pork tenderloin. Thanks, Bobby!"

Reviewed Pork Chops Stewed with Apples and Prunes, with Mashed Sweet Potatoes

Jan 21, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These are the best pork chops ever! I was a little intimidated by the ingredients and did not have several on hand, but I forged ahead and WOW! I would have seconds but I'm trying to be good. Here are the substitutions that worked fine for me: instead of Brandy, I used Grand Marnier; instead of prunes, I used regular raisins; instead of heavy crea"

I heart this soup. It's a little time consuming to roll all the tiny meatballs, but so delicious, it's worth it. I usually add frozen spinach, instead of (I believe, but not 100% sure) kale (?) that giada suggests. Give this a try! You won't be sorry!!!!"

easy, simple, flavorful, and forgiving. You can substitute herbs if you don't have the correct ones on hand. I will make this again today and use butter with the olive oil to saute the garlic, as my garlic burned slightly last time. Super tender. My family loves it!"

Oct 25, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I'm rating this as "good" because of the amazing aroma. Liked: aroma, vegetables Disliked: meat was still tough after cooking in dutch oven for 2 hours, ratio of veggies to meat was wayyyy too high; too much meat broth; kinda sad that I spent 3+ hours on this disappointing dish. Will probably continue to make my short ribs in the crock pot. "

These fries were good. It was difficult to cut the sweet potatoes uniformly, so some had slightly burned ends and others were not crisp. The basil salt/pepper was really delicious! I just rinsed/towel-dried fresh basil leaves, pre chopped them, and threw them in the food processor with peppercorn and sea salt, and it blended perfectly. I'll try th"

DH liked this tilapia. I love citrus with fish, but thought the citrus bagna cauda was a little "oil/butter" heavy, and the extra work of chopping and zesting the ingredients really didn't enhance the flavor, like I anticipatd. i thought just a leamon squeeze after cooking with some citrus zest sprinkled on top would be quicker/easier & get the s...

Jan 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was excellent! Husband & "kinda-picky" son both loved it! A little "labor-intensive" prep time, but worth it. I doubled the recipe. Only changes: added diced onion and garlic with the ginger mix & toasted the peanuts, rinsing them beforehand for less salt.
