I have made this for Thanksgiving and Christmas for several years and it is always a hit. It is very sweet, but I like it for a holiday treat. I use neufchatel instead of full-fat cream cheese and it doesn't alter the taste or texture of the original recipe. I made this for my family and it was a resounding success. My husband and I were not sure about the biscuit topping, but we both loved it. This pot pie is creamy, comforting and delicious, but it didn't leave me feeling over full. I slightly modified the biscuit topping by adding a small pinch of dried thyme and I was very pleased with the result."

I made this pie as a Christmas present for my father. Pecan pie is his favorite and it has to be just right for him to really enjoy it and this one fit the bill. It is sweet, but not over the top and the bourbon adds a distinctive hint of flavor; wonderfully different than vanilla. I think this has become my new go-to pecan pie recipe.
