Reviewed roasted beet salad with walnuts and goat cheese

Nov 4, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

My husband and I LOVE this recipe. I used "Love Beets" (precooked beets found in the cold produce section at Whole Foods), which makes it quicker to put together. I also used Feta instead of goat cheese because it has a similar tangy flavor, but I thought the crumbly texture would be better. I've made this several times since it originally showed...

Very good!! Since it was only for two of us, I halved the recipe for the most part, but used the full can of tomatoes. I also did not have clam juice, so used lobster juice instead. Probably used a bit more parm also. Will definitely make this again.

The term "my boys" is not condescending--it is affectionate. People use "my boys" and "my girls" all the time in an affectionate way. I find this comment highly offensive in general. And it is unfair to rate a recipe with one star when you haven't prepared it! :-( Sometimes people just want to look at the rating, not read through all the comments...

Doing something to annoy is the same thing--just another way of trying to get attention. Childish.

Even though it's not listed in the ingredients, the directions say to pour in 3 cups of water.

But even if FN changed the format back, you can't change the ratings on the recipe later! Which isn't fair to the recipe, the chef, OR the people using the ratings as a guide to choosing a recipe. The recipe should be rated appropriately. I don't mind the comments, but the rating should be strictly for the recipe, not the site. Don't forget to leave...

Jan 23, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

My husband said this was delicious! There are several variables that could change the end result of this dish--e.g., the brand of BBQ sauce (how sweet or spicy), and brand of preserves (how sweet). Also, chicken weights vary, so it would be helpful to know approx. lbs. of chicken for the amount of sauce, rather than just number of pieces. We aren't...

My husband said this cornbread had great flavor, and I must agree! However, I had trouble with some of the veggies sticking to the pan, and the cornbread seemed a little too moist for my taste--but that is strictly a personal preference. But the overall flavor was really great. I think I would like it better if the veggies were mixed into the batt"

I've also made made this recipe several times. I've used kidney beans as called for in the recipe, but also used cannellini beans when that is what I had on hand, and it was good either way. I normally end up using more chicken stock than called for... I don't measure it, I just pour it in until the chicken is mostly submerged. I also tend to add "

I haven't read all the reviews, but this was not a hit for us... I am not the most experienced cook, but did try to follow the recipe pretty closely.
