My Activity

Reviewed Chocolate-Dippy Doughnuts

"After reading previous reviews, I decided to skip the homemade frosting and just buy a jar of frosting from the store. I also used Canola Oil, once I saw that Peanut Oil was $15! Following Paula's directions, I made 8 dounuts. They were delicious. I don't see myself buying donuts from a bakery again. They were fun to make and even more fun to eat! "

Reviewed 40 Cloves and a Chicken

"My two-year old daughter loved this chicken. For the past year, we really have to force her to eat meat of any type, but she was asking for more of this all on her own. My husband and I thought it was pretty good, and probably something you would find in a restaurant. I'll make it again, but next time I'll be buying the pre-peeled garlic cloves.

Reviewed Potato Soup with Shrimp

"I made the soup completely without the shrimp. It is a good soup, hearty and creamy. I did add an extra boullion cube, and extra salt and pepper for a little more flavor, but that is just my preference. I'd recommend that others try it.

Reviewed Fastest-Ever Enchiladas

"My husband said that these were the best homemade enchiladas he's ever had. I am not a fan of Mexican food, but I did enjoy these. Not only were they good, but they were very easy to make. I'll admit, though, that I did use our favorite jarred salsa (La Victoria - Mild) instead of making the salsa. Great taste, super easy. Would recommend to anyone!

Reviewed Fresh Fettuccine with Roasted Chicken and Broccoli Rabe

"My family and I really liked it, but I made a few changes. I read previous reviews that said the lemon taste was overwhelming, and others that said it was bland. So, I only used the juice of half a lemon, instead of 1/4 cup of lemon juice. I also added about a teaspoon of red pepper flakes, which was perfect, because the dish wasn't too hot, but there was a definite heat left in your mouth after a bite. I could not find broccoli rabe, so as other reviewers said, I just used the crowns of broccoli. I added a chicken boullion cube to the chicken broth (I know, a HUGE cheat), to add a little more body. And I left the pine nuts out, because my husband and I both dislike the flavor. I found that I didn't need to add any of the pasta water, as it was already saucy enough. I know it sounds like I made a completely different dish, but the changes were minor, and the dish was great!

Reviewed Dark Chocolate as a Snack

"Did anyone else find the numerous steps difficult intructions for this recipe too hard to follow? I guess I'll never know how great dark chocolate is as a snack. :(

Reviewed Breakfast Cookies

"These are seriously so good! I made two batches and used two different kinds of baby food. In the first batch, I used the carrots. In the second batch, I used peaches. I can't say that the taste differs too significantly. One tip, the shape that your cookie is in when you put it in the oven is the shape it will be when it is done baking. So, if you want them to be round and flat, make sure you shape them that way before you bake them.

Reviewed Creamy Orzo

"This orzo was very good. I read some of the reviews, and decided to use Fire Roasted Tomatoes, instead of plain. I agree, this was a great change. Other than that, I followed the recipe. I did not wind up needing to use any of the pasta water to make the dish creamy. For me, it was creamy enough. I would NOT consider this to be a main dish. I made it with baked chicken breasts and asparagus, with the orzo as a side. It was perfect in this position. I'll definintely make it again.
