Reviewed curried chickpeas and spinach

Apr 6, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

It's very spicy! I used a jalapeno, thinking it wasn't quite as hot as a Serrano pepper - but that didn't hold true. It was easy to put together and I like the combination of vegetables. Had to cook it on top of the stove because my slow cooker was a bit too small to hold everything and that seemed to work out just fine.

Reviewed chicken tikka masala

Mar 30, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I've never had Tikki Masala before, so I can't compare this to what it should or shouldn't taste like. The cream didn't curdle when I made it, so that wasn't an issue.

It came out very soup-like rather than a sauce. Even the rice wasn't enough to absorb all the juice. Not sure what I did wrong there. It tasted okay, but nothing...

I liked this very much - very filling. It was easy to make - put the rice on first and by the time it was done, the rest of the dish was completed. (includes all the chopping and such) ..now to go wash all the dishes!

Reviewed Penne with Butternut Squash

Jan 19, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I was pleasantly surprised with this. It is very good - the red pepper flakes give it a great boost. I used sweet potato instead of butternut squash - primarily because I hate peeling butternut.... I cooked the potato seven minutes - should have only done six... but I'll remember that the next time.

These are terrific! Very easy to make - I could probably eat the whole pan myself.....very nice chai flavor. Will be adding these to my make again list.

Reviewed Lemon-Ginger Wafers

Dec 15, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

I love these cookies!! The combination of the ginger and the lemon is so refreshing. Like the previous reviewer said, a very light cookie and a break from the heavy chocolate ones (although there's nothing wrong with those either!) The only thing I would have done differently is to have made just a tad more icing - probably would use a half a cup...

The folks who ate these really liked them. (I personally found them a bit average, but since I got rave reviews from others, I gave it five starts.) They were easy to make. I found that this recipe made far too much frosting - I only used half. It was very sweet and a light coat on top was just enough.

I'm not sure I really understood the concept... maybe being an east coast gal has something to do with it! If I were to make it again, I'd double the garlic and half the amount of parsley. But overall, it wasn't anything to write home about."

It's very, very filling! I had a small second serving and now I'm stuffed.

A half a tablespoon of cayenne pepper scared the bejeebers out of me, so I only put in a half a teaspoon. It didn't give a big kick, so if I make it again, I'd put a little more in. Not sure I'd like the full half a tablespoon, though....
