Reviewed Sausage and Fish One-Pot

Mar 21, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This meal is great both for a quick weeknight dinner and dinner for guests. I love one-pot recipes, and this one is among my favorites. While the combination of ingredients--Italian sausage, potatoes, tomatoes, white fish, wine, lemon juice--might seem a bit odd on paper, their flavors marry beautifully in the pot. You'll love this dish!"

Reviewed Tuscan Mashed Chickpeas

Mar 21, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a quick, easy and very delicious recipe. The fresh flavors of the tomato and lemon juice really bring the taste of the pureed chickpeas to life. The Parmesan cheese (I highly recommend using grated Parmigiano Reggiano, if possible) gives the recipe a richness and a nutty/buttery flavor but doesn't defeat the other ingredients. I served the"

Reviewed Shrimp and Chorizo in Garlic Sauce

Dec 21, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe has several simple ingredients and is very easy to prepare. The chorizo and the adobo seasoning impart great flavor to the shrimp. The garlic sauce itself is an indulgent treat and quite rich. Although I am a hearty eater, I found myself feeling a bit overwhelmed by this dish after several bites, but each bite was absolutely delicious"

Reviewed Prosciutto Roasted Bass with Autumn Vegetables

Jul 23, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

As soon as I saw Ina make this recipe, I knew I wanted to try it. I found the sea bass (pricey but, as it turned out, so worth the money), proscuitto and the vegetables at my local Whole Foods. Food Network rates the recipe's difficulty level as "intermediate", but I found it incredibly simple to prepare. And, oh my, is it scrumptious! The proscui"

The extremely easy preparation of this salad is remarkable given how deliscious it tastes. I'll definitely make this again."

Reviewed Perfect Pot Roast

Feb 11, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I've tried tasty pot roast recipes by other FN stars, but this one by Ree Drummond beats them all! It so reminded me of my mom's pot roast which I adored as a kid. I thought it odd that she instructed to leave the carrots unpeeled but understood her reason completely when I tasted the wonderful rich flavor the skin imparts. The meat was perfectly...

I'd never tasted coq au vin and often found recipes for it a bit intimidating. Watching Ina make it, it suddenly seemed quite doable. And it was. I just took my time and Ina's recipe lead the way to one of the richest, most flavorful and hearty chicken dishes I've ever eaten. Ina rules."

Many thanks to Claire for the easiest Steak Au Poivre recipe I've seen. I've wanted to make this dish for some time, and seeing Claire's no-fuss preparation inspired me to finally go for it. Absolutely delicious and decadent. I made her mashed potatoes and fried shallots as well. Wonderful meal! "

Reviewed Sour Cream Pound Cake

Feb 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I grew up loving my mom's Southern pound cake. Preparing and eating this cake took me back to those days and gave me a warm feeling. I do recommend adding a pinch of salt, like some other reviewers suggested. The cake is delicious. And it is great to have a pound cake recipe small enough for a loaf pan? Paula rules!

Reviewed Tossed Angel Hair Pasta

Feb 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

There are few foods I love more to prepare than a really simple yet delicious pasta sauce, and this one meets that criteria. So very easy, fast, and quite light and easy on the palate. Loved it with the fish piccata. Thanks, Melissa.

Reviewed Fish Piccata

Feb 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Really delicious and easy to prepare, this will be a go-to fish recipe for me. The lemons I had were VERY juicy, so--believe it or not--I used only half of one...to great results! I imagine the juice of two lemons would have completely overwhelmed the other flavors. Just use your judgement, I guess.

Reviewed Caramelized Onion Penne

Feb 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is very delicious and easy to prepare. The anchovies (I used paste) give the caramelized onions a wonderful nutty flavor, not at all a fishy one. Like another reviewer, I added Italian sausage to the dish. Extra good! Thanks, Rachael!

Feb 2, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is now one of my favorites. The gravy's flavor is outstanding--savory and spicy--and the ribs are so tender. Preparation could not be easier. I really love these one-pot recipes. Thanks, Melissa.

I'm a guy who's always loved curry dishes, but I'd never prepared one because they seemed pretty daunting. This recipe looked easy...and it turned out to be as easy as it looked. The taste? I'm a big fan of Brussels sprouts, so I'm always looking for new ways to prepare them. This recipe offers a very unique and very delicious technique. I happen to love nutmeg, but if you don't care for it so much, I recommend that you use 1/4 teaspoon instead of 1/2. Thanks, Sunny, for another great recipe.
