Made this last night with my own modifications. I used chuck roast instead, and left out the red pepper flakes and basil. Basil in chili?! I used parsley because I too hate cilantro. I also upped the chili powder, cayenne, and cumin. Probably the best chili I've ever had!"

These were great! The only thing I did different was I used all purpose flour. Chewy and yummy!

This recipe is delicious if you don't add all that beef broth! I added about a half cup red wine with a few tablespoons of the vinegar and turned up the heat to high, uncovered, for the last 30 minutes to thicken the sauce. It was really good!
