Reviewed Creamy Deviled Eggs

"really?! These were a runny mess. And very unpleasant looking as well. I had to boil another two eggs to try and get this to hold together. I'd LOVE to see an actual video of this being made to work"

New Topic Question:Fast- and- Easy- Coconut- Custard- Pie in Cooking Q & A

"Fast and Easy Coconut Custard Pie
Hi! I've made this pie a couple of times without the coconut as my mother loves custard pie. Only prob is the custard throws off a little water, I assume because of the whole eggs. If I were to use only egg yolks, how many yolk would..."

Reviewed Good Eats Meatloaf

"darn it! Thought I'd given a review of this recipe, but guess not. All I can say is that I've made this meatloaf at least a half dozen times simply because my good ole' midwestern guy, who always loved meatloaf, told me not to ever try another. I tried so many times, and failed, to give him the comfort food of his dreams. First time I made this"

Reviewed Fast and Easy Coconut Custard Pie

"Pretty darned good. Came out a lot flatter than some of the photos, but I'm thinking my pie pan was a little small. I filled it to capacity (and then some) and it almost spilled over in the over. I did, however, use up the leftover mix that wouldn't fit into the pan and microwaved it as I've read others have done. THAT WAS AMAZING! Next time will ..."

Reviewed Sweet Corn Mac 'n' Cheese

"I really wanted to like this, but nuh-uh. Kinda sweet with a weird texture. Will make mac & cheese with corn on the side next time."

Reviewed Dulce de Leche Churro Tots with Whipped Cream

"OH MY GOD...these have got to be THE best thing I have ever eaten. So ruined my diet for...forever, but worth it. Made them again for guests using recipe for a cinnamon whipped cream from an old cheesecake recipe, and everyone just kept asking for more and more churros. I feel like a Food Network star now!!"

About Me

** yrs old, just moved into newly renovated (once-gutted after Katrina) tiny house w/ brand new kitchen. Still trying to get my bearings, have so much less space for cooking items. Married, one daughter in art school in N.Y. Soon-to-be-retired RN, now a Jazzercise instructor. Most fun I've had in years!

I absolutely LOVE to cook, esp. anything Latino-inspired, authentic Mexican, Asian, Thai, and Indian. Looking forward soon to making my own vindaloo. One that's edible

Favorite Foods

Just about everything except French cooking. Live in a city heavily inspired by the French, but I've just never liked French food. I am absolutely thrilled that so many wonderful Latino restaurants and groceries are popping up since Katrina!
