Reviewed almost-famous chicken lettuce wraps

Apr 6, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I didn't think this tasted like the dish you get at the restaurant. It's more similar to a cashew chicken, sans cashews. It needs more heat; think it would go better with rice than lettuce leaves. Dicing the chicken took a long time, so you might want to try ground chicken. The noodles burn very quickly--smoked up the kitchen! Used cashews instead

Hoisin sauce, oyster sauce and soy sause (tamari) are all available in gluten free versions so it is possible to make it gluten free. I just did!

These were irresistible. I used coconut oil rather than butter. "

This is a delicious recipe. I used 2% milk and it was still very rich. I added a minced garlic clove to the milk as it simmered, and used a combo of baby bella and button mushrooms. It's so rich I don't think it needs any additional cheese, as some have suggested. ""

Reviewed Spanish Chicken Stew with Manchego Polenta

This has a great flavor. It is similar to her Spanish chicken and dumplings, which is also great. The recipe definitely feeds more than four--it makes a lot of stew. I did have to reduce the sauce in order to thicken it a bit, rather than just simmering it when I added the wine and tomatoes.

I made it for Thanksgiving and got a lot of compliments, as it was delicious! I only made half the dressing, and didn't use all of it. So, unless you like your salad DRENCHED in dressing, don't expect to use the full amount!
