Reviewed spanish rice

Jan 30, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This was my first Spanish Rice recipe. I needed the extra 1/2 c. water - twice. I'm at 6000' though so maybe that is a factor? It has good flavor and I'll do this again but I'm going to start with the extra water.

Absolute deliciousness!! Only 2 slight changes. We used potato chips instead of crackers because we're gluten free and real bacon bits [Costco] instead of frying up 8 slices. I topped it with the bacon after the 15 minutes in the oven then stuck it back in for just a minute or two more to sorta heat the bacon. Fabulous! This is a keeper!

Reviewed Gina's Spinach Dip

I only changed one item: I used half & half instead of whipping cream. Other than that I made it exactly as written - right down to the Rotel brand tomatoes. I expected a lot of flavor but it got a rating of "too bland" at my house.

Reviewed Shepherd's Pie

Nov 18, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

This was my plan for tonight's dinner and at the gym this morning Rachael Ray made a shepherd's pie. I didn't follow her recipe [subtitles] but at the very end I paid attention and she said to use rosemary if you're making a shepherd's pie with lamb but to use sage if you're going to use beef. I didn't care for the flavor of the lamb tonight but...

Delicious!!! After reading a bunch of reviews, I used one 6.3 pound chicken and increased the timing by 5 minutes on each step - 20 minutes every step of the way. Perfect timing and beautifully cooked. Kept all other measurements exactly the same except I never needed the second 2 c. of stock. The sauce was fabulous unstrained. We served it wit"

I am a lightweight when it comes to alcohol. I rarely drink it so when I do, I want it to be tasty. After reading ALL the reviews (twice), here's what I did... I made the simple syrup with 1 c. water : 1 c. sugar : zest of 3 limes. Simmered it for 5 min, and strained as directed. The first batch of mojitos was made with 1 c. simple syrup and 1 "

Reviewed Grilled Chicken with Dijon and Meyer Lemon

Jun 4, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Delish!! Whole family loved it! Juicy, flavorful chicken that my husband - who doesn't like mustard - raved over. Couldn't find Meyer lemons so I just used regular ones. We had a windy night so we finished it in the oven as suggested. Took about 25 minutes in the oven after grilling."
