Reviewed The Ultimate Cheesecake

Sep 9, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

It was good but not the best I've ever had. Just like others, it was more creamy than a typical cheesecake. I prefer mine more dense. The crust also needed more sweetness. I even added about 4 oz more cream cheese because I read the other reviews and wanted it to be thick. But still a good cheesecake but not one I want to do again. The lemon zest "

Reviewed Momma Neely's Pot Roast

Aug 6, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very good! My dad and I always compete with our pot roasts and mine is now on top thanks to Momma Neely! I did find that the amount of oil was too much and I used half of the wine and it was still strong. Otherwise it was a great pot roast recipe!""

Reviewed Capellini al Forno

Aug 6, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Definitely need some strong cheese and a nice fresh herb like basil. Otherwise it will be bland. I cut up the leftovers into 1 in cubes and packed them in a picnic lunch the next day and it was good. We like it and will use again.""

Reviewed Bay Ridge Empanadas

This was good but not enough spice. I thought with all the spices that it would really have good flavor but it still needed more. I added some adobo and it was better. I would leave out the allspice as it gave it a strange flavor. I did fry them which is the only way to go. ""

Reviewed Southern Fried Chicken

Oh Paula! Best fried chicken in the world! Folks the house seasoning is to be made and kept for future recipes! Don't pour a whole cup of salt on the chicken! I had adobo seasoning on hand and used that. Basically the same spices and it was still yummy! Mmm mmm good!

Reviewed Sweet Potatoes and Marshmallows

Dec 14, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I didn't eat this because I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes. I made it for Thanksgiving because my husband loves sweet potatoes. I used canned yams and used only half the amount of water suggested per other users reviews and they were a hit! My daughter and hubby gobbled them up! Kinda wish I did eat them ;-(

Reviewed Grilled Smoked Pork Chops with Sweet and Sour Glaze

Dec 14, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

OMG Great! I'm not a pork fan but my husband loves pork so when I saw this recipe I decided to try it. It was so good! I used my George Foreman griller and they came out fantastic!

Reviewed Cheesy Popovers

Dec 14, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

We loved the flavor of these popovers. They were a bit dense and more like a muffin than a popover which is lighter and fluffy. Maybe next time I will add a little baking soda?? Still loved them!

Reviewed Pan-Roasted Chicken with Mushrooms and Rosemary

Dec 14, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

WOW! I felt like a master chef when I tasted this! Soooo good! I substituted red onions for the shallots and used boneless chicken breasts and it was fabulous!

Reviewed Zesty Grilled Tilapia

Dec 14, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

EWWW! Yuko! Both the fish and rice were disgusting. I cooked the rice for about 40 min and it was still crunchy. No flavor from the coconut milk or mango. The fish was ok but needed more salt and spices. From now on I will stick to Paula's recipes and her son needs to stick to being her assistant.
