Reviewed Three Bean and Beef Chili

Jan 4, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

My husband likes his chili spicy so I used two chipotle peppers with seeds AND a little sprinkle of chili powder. I also decreased the amount of water. Start with a cup and see how it looks. You can add more water 1/2 way through cooking it.

We enjoyed this very much. I served it with shredded cheese and sour cream. I would make...

Reviewed Roasted Brussels Sprouts

These were extremely easy to make and they were very good. I would definitely make them again.

Reviewed Braised Beef Brisket with Onions, Mushrooms, and Balsamic

Jan 4, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I thought this was pretty good. I served it for a dinner party. The meat just fell apart. I cooked it low and slow. I would take it out a little sooner because it did shrink a lot. I would also recommend serving this with mashed potatoes because there is a lot of balsamic-y onions to top the roast and the potatoes. My guests liked it but no one was...

Reviewed Perfect Roast Chicken

Oct 6, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

Easy and delicious. Fast prep and then you can do other things while you wait for it to roast. Very moist and tender.

Reviewed Lemon Chicken Breasts

Jul 9, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was very easy to make and it went nicely with the roasted potato recipe I had from Cooking Light. The chicken was very moist. I would try basting the chicken with the lemon juice sauce while it cooks it order to bump up the flavor a bit. "

Reviewed Roasted Tomato Caprese Salad

Jul 7, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I took this to a dinner party and everyone loved it. Even though it took a long time to roast, it was very easy. A friend of mine does not like tomatoes and she had seconds. This will go in my permanent recipe book. "

Reviewed Pasta Primavera

Jun 23, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this recipe for a party. Everyone really liked it. I was nervous about it being bland. The key is to make sure to use a really good sharp parmesean with extra for sprinkling on top. Yyoull also need a good amount of salt and pepper. I even added garlic salt. The sauce.is.meant to be light. Its a good summer dish. I would double the veggies."

Reviewed Parmesan-Roasted Broccoli

Loved this recipe. I don't think the pine nuts add a whole level of taste to this recipe so if you are on a budget....go ahead and skip em. Still very good!"

Reviewed Honey Orange BBQ Chicken

May 27, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

It's ALOT of work for just an okay turnout. Hubby complained that boneless chicken breasts would have been easier. It's too many steps for me. And the final product doesn't support the amount of steps. Won't be making it again. "

Reviewed Mexican Grilled Corn

May 27, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

A good idea but a bad execution. I was craving this corn from a local taqueria and decided to make it myself. I should have KNOWN from the recipe it would be dripping in mayo sauce. I would recommend cutting it in HALF. I still have tons sitting in my fridge and I just have no idea what to do with it. This is a unique take on a BBQ staple. Guests "

Reviewed Blackberry Cobbler

May 12, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I was looking for something quick and easy to make for a BBQ. Many of the cobbler recipes had tons of ingredients and lots of steps. Since I was looking for simple, I settled on this recipe. Pioneer Woman has never let me down. Once again, it was a big hit. Prep time is minimal and simple. I threw in some raspberries for fun. Everyone loved it. Ev"

Reviewed Neelys Baked Ziti

Jan 8, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I tried to do this in a 13x9 dish. No wonder it looked like a giant salad on top of my ziti. I might try it again and mix everything together before baking. It was a good dish though. Looking forward to all the leftovers this week. Yahoo!""

Reviewed Penne with Butternut Squash and Goat Cheese

Jan 7, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I had to doctor this one because I was running out of ingredients. I had most of the goat cheese so I supplemented with some cream cheese. I forgot to roast the onions so I sauteed them. My butternut squash could have been bigger. Overall I liked this recipe. I didn't love it. I usually LOVE anything Giada but this was still good. I would defini...

Reviewed Butternut Squash Soup with Fontina Cheese Crostini

Jan 4, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this for New Year's. I adjusted the recipe a bit. I roasted the butternut squash using the Winter Butternut Squash recipe to give the recipe more depth. I do not have an immersion blender so I blended the squash, onions, celery and garlic and then added the chicken broth. Next time I will blend the squash mixture a bit more to make sure th...

Reviewed Smothered Pork Chops

Jan 4, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I wouldn't say this recipe is "over the top" amazing. It is, however, an easy quick weeknight dinner. Odds are you have most of the items in your pantry. As long as you don't overcook the porkchop - you should be just fine. ""

Dec 24, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

It's CRITICAL that you use fresh squeezed lemon juice. DO NOT try to wing it and substitute lemon flavoring. I will try this one again because my version tasted like a nuclear chemical lemon. Not good. I love Giada's recipes so I know It was my mistake. :-)""

Reviewed Glazed Double-Cut Pork Chops

Dec 24, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

There is nothing better than a thick cut delicious pork chop off the grill. The sauce was excellent AND we had plenty left over for chicken the next night. Husband loved this one. I'll definitely be making it again!""
