Reviewed Chicken-Fried Steak With Cream

May 31, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The recipe turned out good other than the high amount of salt in the gravy. Also, the cube steaks I bought were already quite thin, so I didn't pound them out any flatter. I served it with mashed potatoes. This was my 1st time ever cooking or eating chicken fried steak and I am not a fan. I will cook this for my husband again. He enjoyed it."

The chicken and biscuits were really tasty! I already knew we weren't going to eat the gravy on the biscuits, but I did put in on the chicken. We used grape jam on the biscuits. I felt like we were eating Popeye's chicken and biscuits! Caution: the salt should read teaspoons not tablespoons."

Reviewed Cedar Plank Salmon With Maple-Ginger Glaze

Jan 1, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was my 1st try at cedar plank salmon. It was easy, had pretty good flavor, but was not the best salmon recipe ever. I will definitely try to find a better cedar plank salmon recipe. As for now, I will stick to Paula Deen's Fired Up Rosemary Salmon.

Dec 4, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I don't eat butter cookies. They are my husband's favorite, so I decided to try this recipe. Since my husband likes them, I guess I will be making them again. I did taste the dough and the cinnamon adds just the right amount of kick to them without overdoing it. He did say they don't have the melt in your mouth buttery taste, so I may try to ...

Since my tenderloin was only 1lb I cooked it 15 min at 475 degrees and 25 min at 350 degrees turning halfway through each. I also used half the rub. Next time I will sear the tenderloin before I roast it even though the recipe doesn't say too. ""

This was so easy to make and really delicious! I added 1tsp of pepper instead of a tbsp that the recipe called for and it was perfect! Definitely about to become a staple recipe in my house because I loved carrots. All the goodness here without having to roast them with a pot roast.

This was the 1st time I have ever made scalloped potatoes and I have to say they were very creamy and delicious. I substituted Swiss for Asiago and Parmesan for Raclette or Comte. I followed all the steps but will porbably just cook in a cast iron skillet next time to skip the poring in a dish step; We had these with roasted chicken but were s...

Delicious! I used heavy whipping cream instead of milk and flour and regular philadelphia cream cheese instead of low-fat; basically, I made it non-low fat:) I added the chicken from the tuscan garlic chicken recipe, recipe on olive garden. Sooo delicious. Love the way the lemon zest makes it pop!""

Yet another good chicken recipe to add to my collection, but I don't really care for the potatoes that go with it. Maybe once I find the right kind of cheese it will be good. So far I have tried blu cheese and extra sharp white cheddar cheese and neither have been just delicious. Thanks Claire:)""

I made these tonight, along with the chicken dish from the show.

You have to really love blue cheese to like these and we don't. The flavor is very sour, much like blue cheese. We didn't care for it. I tried it again with extra sharp white cheddar and still wasn't too pleased. Guess this isn't a keeper

This was superb! I can finally cook my own salmon:) I only used 1/2 tbsp butter, one sprig of rosemary, and I used 2 lemon "wedges" not slices on top. If you watched the show you know some ingredients were left out of the recipe, so I added them. I "added" garlic powder & a litte ground sage to both sides. I also "added" a sprig of thyme on...
