I didn't have all the ingredients so I improvised. I sauteed onions, carrots, celery and garlic. I cooked the lentils in water with the onion with clove. (that was the magic ingredient) The flavor was so subtle. I didn't add the mustard and vinegar, I wasn't looking...”
