Reviewed Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee with Raspberries

"I have been making creme brulee for years, since I first ordered it at a pricey restaurant. I've used Paula Deen's recipe, Ina Garten's recipe and even one from Alton Brown. They were all great, but Anne's recipe is outstanding. Sometimes, people are afraid to tackle creme brulee and the first few times I made it I had it come out not as firm as I"

They were all great, but Anne's recipe is outstanding. Sometimes, people are afraid to tackle creme brulee and the first few times I made it I had it come out not as firm as I'd like. But I think Anne's is foolproof. I made it Monday before the recipe was on the site, and I used 1/2 cup of sugar. Since I wasn't sure of the amount of sugar and because vanilla bean is $8 for 2 small pods, I just used 2 teaspoons of organic vanilla. And my cups aren't the standard size so mine made 6 servings. But if you are leary about making creme brulee then this recipe is foolproof. It's going to be the one I use from now on!"

About Me

I am loving life in Louisville, KY! Married for 20 years and together we have 3 sons. Boy do they eat!

Favorite Foods

My family loves beef tenderloin with any kind of potato. But my absolute favorite meal has to be the traditional turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans & cranberry sauce meal. We have it at least twice a month.
