Reviewed Dark Chocolate as a Snack
"Not enough information given in this recipe. For instance, can I substitute milk chocolate? Semisweet? White?
Also not clear if I need to take the chocolate out of the packaging before consuming since it isn't stated in the recipe.
Reviewed Baked Potato
"Nowhere does it say HOW to poke holes in the potato!! I tried several times jabbing my finger into it, all I ended up with was a severely sprained index finger. I eventually figured out that a hammer and nail would do the trick. All is well now, right? WRONG!!! After cooking the potatoes I served them to my hungry guests (who were horrified when they saw my horribly disfigured finger.) Imagine my surprise when they began eating their potatoes and I saw the looks of disgust I saw on their faces. Excuuuuuse me, no one at Food Network told me I had to clean the potato first!!!!! I thought the stuff on the outside was supposed to add flavor, much like fat on the outside of a steak. Thanks Food Network for ruining my dinner party - and for losing use of my finger for a week or two. To top it off I recently found out you can use the *microwave* to cook these potatoes in a fraction of the time. You know, that contraption you used to make your famous Microwave Popcorn recipe?!?!?!
Reviewed Homemade Microwave Popcorn
"I'm really disappointed, this recipe is way too complicated.
First of all I didn't have any popcorn around, so I used an extra can of corn I had leftover from Paula Deen's super difficult English Peas recipe (do a search on this site if you haven't seen what I mean!) And who in the heck has brown paper bags laying around? I know I don't so I used a Ziplock instead.
Besides those 2 slight variations I followed the recipe exactly. Of course when I was through my popcorn looked nothing like the popcorn in the picture Food Network posted (do they ever?) Instead I have a plasticky corn smelling goo on the stuck to the bottom of my microwave! THanks Food Network, you owe me a new microwave!!!!!
Reviewed Late Night Bacon
"I was so looking forward to using this recipe late last night. Unfortunately when I opened my fridge I was out of bacon!! No worries, I thought to myself - I'll simply grab a slice of the leftover pizza I had in there. Sounds good right? I followed Rachael's directions and much to my dismay, the inside of my microwave looked like a tornado hit it!! Pizza bits everywhere! Your directions stink - thanks for ruining the inside of my microwave!! I was left eating cold pizza last night thanks to you.
Reviewed Braciola
"I found this recipe extremely difficult to follow, it was also difficult to find the ingridients listed so I made a few modifications.
I couldn't find braciola at the store, so I bought some hot dogs instead - I figured one store bought meat is as good as the other. Also instead of brushing with olive oil before cooking I discovered it turned out more tasty if I brushed it with mustard AFTER it was finished cooking. To make the recipe even more fancy I placed the cooked mustard brushed hot dog onto a store bought bun. Absolutely delicious, plus I didn't have to use a fork to eat it, so I saved some time during clean up!
