Reviewed homemade tomato soup

May 18, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

There simply MUST be an error in this recipe. The amount of oil is beyond ridiculous. I wish I had read ALL the reviews before making this, and I would have immediately either chosen another recipe or adopted reviewers' suggestions. When I roasted my tomatoes, I had oil covering the ENTIRE sheet pan. That is clearly at least one of the mistakes...

I have always had success with this recipe, and I will never, ever buy ricotta from the store again.

To pardner_1598007, high altitude DOES make a difference. The curds and whey will separate before they are fully coagulated.

Google "high altitude ricotta" and you will see the adjustments that need to be made...

Wow! I was intrigued by this recipe when I saw it, and it's even more intriguing when finished! So delicious and so different! The outside is crispy and a little salty, the inside is like a delicious marshmallow. It turns a beautiful color, almost rosy tan, and the inside is pure white. The recipe was a lot simpler to execute than I thought b"

Got rave reviews all around for this salad! I used escarole, radicchio and arugula. It just goes so well together, particularly the sweet overtones of the dressing against the bitterness of the greens and the saltiness of the cheese. And you can never go wrong with nuts in a salad! This was delcared one of the best I've ever done, though, and "

OK, this was awesome and completely justifies my rather impulsive purchase of a mandoline a few months ago. This is a big hit whenever I make it, and I love it because it's so simple and elegant. I love having a way to serve mushrooms with pasta that is not a cream sauce. This is definitely going into the regular rotation. Thanks!"

Wow, simple, rich and delicious! I wish I had doubled it because it is SO good. It is so quick to prepare, a big bonus. The citrus and mint are really unique and give it a special touch. The reviewer "ally_1284" said this was her favorite Rachel Ray recipe, which is why I tried it. And I agree. I will definitely make it again."

Really interesting and different recipe, I loved it. I chopped the celery root into pretty fine little matchsticks, as it is definitely the most pungent of the ingredients.
