Reviewed Chocolate Peppermint Pinwheel Cookies

"Although not difficult to prepare, these cookies were a big disappointment. The peppermint flavor was clear, but no chocolate taste at all. Also, the texture was cardboardish. Yuck.

Reviewed Chocolate Peppermint Pinwheel Cookies

"Sigh...These cookies looked so pretty in the video and images that I set aside the poor reviews and made them anyway. The preparation wasn't as difficult or timeconsuming as many reviewers state. I had no trouble rolling them, slicing or removing the cookies from the parchment. Those are the only positives I can think of....
The prepared cookies were solely peppermint in flavor, lacking in mouthfeel with an unpleasant, cardboardish, texture. In an attempt to create something edible, I dipped the backs in melted semi sweet chocolate and pressed them into raw sugar. The resulting cookie at least has some chocolate taste and a bit of sweetness. Under no circumstances would I make these again-- a basic sugar cookie would be far better.
