Reviewed spicy cauliflower stir-fry

4 days ago on

I made this yesterday and loved it. Being from Louisiana, I used Louisiana Hot Sauce and Sriracha. I loved this! I love Tabasco sauce too, but was afraid it would be too hot--a little goes a long way!

Reviewed sunny's easy roasted garlic and pumpkin hummus

Nov 29, 2014 on

I made this as one of our appetizers for Thanksgiving Dinner. My adult daughter LOVES hummus, and was excited about this recipe. She helped me make it. We found it to be a bit bland, but very colorful and festive. We had to add a little more lemon juice, some Louisana Hot Sauce, and more garlic.

Reviewed butternut squash soup with fontina cheese crostini

Nov 29, 2014 on

I think that this is a pretty good recipe, but you will not achieve the look of this soup in the recipe, because it's very obvious that heavy cream was used. I had to thicken mine with a slurry. I will make this again, but with only 4-5 cups of stock. Also, for our taste, it needs more garlic. It needed a heat element because the squash is slightly...

Reviewed asparagus bundles

Jun 7, 2014 on

Ok, I'll admit that I have not liked many of Tricia's recipes. This one is an absolute winner. I served these for Easter dinner, and there were none left, and I had to copy the recipe for everyone. I used only 6 asparagus to a bundle, and a half piece of bacon. You do need to stir the sauce and baste during the cooking process. This is an outstanding...

Reviewed Roast Beef with Gravy

Jun 2, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

I rated this a 3 because the gravy is God-awful. The roast was ok, but I'm going back to my old reliable Paula Deen recipe. I love almost anything in vinegar, pickles, artichokes, you name it. I HATED this gravy. I put it down the garbage disposal! I am from the South, and we don't include vinegar in our gravies! You may try this with beef b"

Reviewed Danish Cherries

Jun 2, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

This is simple and delicious. I had to use the cherries I had on hand this weekend or lose them, so this looked fast and easy. I had to use 5 T of sugar, my cherries were on the tart side. Also, I used vanilla bean infused sugar and Meyer lemon juice and zest. I cut the almond extract back to 1/2 t. because I was afraid 3/4 t. would be too muc"

I have made this recipe both with the macadamias and with pecans. Our family and friends love this."

Reviewed Pumpkin Soup with Chili Cran-Apple Relish

May 5, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

I made this for Thanksgiving in 2010 and 2011. It is really excellent. Be sure to also make the relish, it adds so much extra flavor and complexity to an already wonderful soup."

Reviewed Creole Style Tomato Soup with Goat Cheese Dumplings

May 5, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

I have made the soup, but not the dumplings. My husband hates goat cheese and making the dumplings adds to the time to prepare the soup. I think this soup has great depth of flavor. I am just now reviewing a recipe I have made multiple times over the last several years. I have made it with canned and with fresh tomatoes, both ways are excellent"

Reviewed German Potato Salad

Feb 12, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

Way to much sugar! I made this recipe exactly, and there was too much sugar vs. vinegar. I will try it again with 1/2 the amount of sugar. I looked at a lot of other recipes for German Potato Salad after I had this failure, and they have 1 1/2 t. or just slightly more. This was a failure for me. Sorry.

Reviewed Homemade Mini Corn Dogs

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

I don't fry very much, but decided to try this recipe today because my grandchildren love corn dogs. I have decided to invest in an electric fryer--these corn dogs are really good. I used soaked toothpicks because my skewers were too long. I will buy some skewers of the appropriate size and make these many times in the future, I'm sure. To one...
