"Just made this cookies. Yes they are quite time consuming. I used a different sugar cookie recipes that I was used to using.Also used Ghiradelli semi sweet baking bar instead of unsweetned. I also took the advise of others and added more peppermint extract and really grinded those candy canes up. The chocolate dough was breaking apart so that became the inner layer and the sugar dough the out. I baked only 10 minutes and they came out good. I will make more modificationson my next attempt. Worth the time spent
