My Activity

Reviewed Chicken Marsala

"This was tremendous. I tried other recipes before, but found this one to be exactly what I was looking for. I doctored it up a bit by adding some dried herbs in with the flour. I also added some garlic and shallot when the mushrooms went in the pan and then added a little cornstarch to thicken. It was really good. Served it over pasta."

Reviewed Chicken with Mustard Mascarpone Marsala Sauce

"I made this tonight for my mother and sister and it wasn't great. I followed the recipe exactly but felt the cheese made it too light and almost weakened the flavor. It didn't have that brown coloring to it. I would probably not make it again. They said it was good and we ate it, but I was very disappointed."

Reviewed Tri-Berry Oven Pancakes

"Fantastic flavor, but my edges were starting to burn after 8 minutes in the oven. I had to switch the dishes around a little and turn the temp down. I eliminated the butter in the mixture, as I would see how it would get too greasy. The bottom of the pancakes then started to blow up. I had to poke a fork to keep them down. I made these a seco"

Reviewed Meringues Chantilly

"I gave these two stars because it looked so beautiful on the plate, other than that they were very disappointing. I served this for my in-laws and when we went to eat them, they were gummy in the middle and hard to cut, when just a couple of hours earlier they were airy and crunchy. I had to pull out butter knives to cut them. My mother-in-law w"

Reviewed Parker's Split Pea Soup

"I've never had split pea soup before since it never appealed to me. I'm having my inlaws over for dinner who love split pea soup. Ina rarely disappoints me, so decided on this one because it was chunky and didn't have ham. Oh my gosh, it is devine. Tastes like a really flavorful vegetable soup. I will be making this over and over again and not"

Reviewed Avocado Ice Cream

"I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out wonderful. It was very simple to make. The ice cream was delicious and I'm not even an avocado lover. It also had a lovely color. Avocados are very beneficial to health, so I didn't feel so guilty eating it!"

Reviewed Raspberry Crumble Bars

"I made these for Christmas and they were quite delicious. I first got this recipe while browsing through a magazine where an article on Ina was featured. If you love raspberry and shortbread, you'll flip over these."

About Me

I am a married housewife and a seasonal resident in Florida and Minnesota.  I enjoy shopping, dining, traveling, and working on projects around the home, but my main love is being in the kitchen.   I attended college, however if I had to do it over again, I would have gone to cooking school.  My mom, grandmothers and Italian aunts were all very good cooks and bakers.  Food was always very prominent in my life.

Favorite Foods

My husband and I are not red meat eaters and we try to maintain a very healthy diet, cooking only with organic ingredients.  With that being said, I tweek a recipe to make it a little healthier and cook a more wide range of food when entertaining.
