Reviewed Hummus Dip Recipe : Dave Lieberman : Food Network

7 days ago on FoodNetwork.com

This was a little too bland for me. I like his garnish, but it needs jazzed up. I have a Vitamix recipe that's much better. I initially tried this thinking the sesame oil would give a nice flavor, but it didn't do anything.

Reviewed Oven Fried Chicken Recipe : Ellie Krieger : Food Network

The texture was great, but mine turned out very bland. To me it calls for more flavor. Next time I'll add more seasoning to the crumbs by using more herbs, salt, and perhaps some lemon rind.

Reviewed Fresh Fruit with Honey Vanilla Mascarpone Recipe : Ina Garten : Food Network

Aug 30, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

The flavor was very good and it's really simple to put together, but mine was very thick...like cold thick cream cheese consistency. I added a couple more tablespoons of cream, but then it seems to have somewhat curdled a bit. I'll try it again, but next time will keep at room temp to see if that helps thin it out. Also, I spent over $11 on a vanilla...

Reviewed Baked Gruyere and Sausage Omelet Recipe : Giada De Laurentiis : Food Network

Aug 26, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

What a perfect dish to make for company or to have on hand that can easily be cut in squares and frozen for when needed. I whipped this up within an hour of serving it to a house guest and it was absolutely delicious. It's more a combination of a souffle and a quiche without the crust. On a time crunch, I altered it a little. I did not add any...

Reviewed Crunchy Noodle Salad Recipe : Ina Garten : Food Network

Aug 4, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Fantastic! For color and a little more crunch I added some carrots cut on the spiralizer. This had great flavor, but I only used about half the dressing. That was a little disappointing because I used grapeseed oil to replace the vegetable oil and it isn't cheap. Ended up tossing away the extra dressing.

Reviewed Spinach and Cheddar Souffle Recipe : Ina Garten : Food Network

Jun 17, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

WOW! This turned out beautiful. I had 4 1/2" ramekins and made individual souffls. I baked them for about 15 minutes and the time was perfect. Due to what I had on hand, I used half and half for the milk, arrowroot for the flour to make it gluten free and fresh chopped raw spinach. I was so excited when these came out of the oven. I had to...

Reviewed scallops provencal

Jun 2, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Sensational! I didn't even plan to make this...had fresh, wild scallops and pulled this recipe up online. This tastes like scallops in a good brown sauce, almost like a gravy. I put a little less shallots than it called for and I should have used the full amount. It would have flavored it a little better. Sometimes recipes call for way too much...

Reviewed celery root remoulade

May 23, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This was very delicious...to me it tasted a lot like Ina's Vegetable Coleslaw. In any recipe I see with a mayo dressing, I always cut it way down. The vegetable is a little moist anyway from the lemon juice. I don't recall how much vinegar it said to use, but I just did a splash of apple cider vinegar since many complained it was too sour. I also...

This was so great! I have tried so many different recipes and this one by far is the tastiest one I';ve tried. My husband just loved it. I substituted the cheese for an egg and cooked it on a cast iron skillet. I added some blackening seasoning to it also. Just amazing. Thank you so much!"

Reviewed rice and black bean pilaf

May 15, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Just delicious. Others commented that it was lacking flavor. I thought it was very flavorful. Made it for my husband who's a picky eater and he loved it. It's a great accompaniment to any protein or other vegetables can be added for a meal in itself. Definitely a keeper!

Reviewed chicken tortilla soup

May 9, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I'm not a huge fan of this type of soup, but my husband enjoys it. It's very tasty and quick and easy to make. The flavor is wonderful. I would never add raw chicken to a dish, so I baked the chicken first and shredded it, then added it to the soup. I also added 2 t chili powder, 1/2 t cumin and a dash of garlic powder. It needs lots of salt...

Reviewed arborio rice pudding

May 1, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Oh my gosh....so good! After reading other reviews, I realized I wasn't alone regarding the cooking time. After my rice absorbed the water, it was still very hard, so next time I will put a lid on it. During the milk mixture, mine also took 30 minutes. I feel the amount of sugar is good; it isn't too sweet. The flavor is just outstanding!

Reviewed creamy cheddar grits

Apr 14, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Last month my husband and I attended a fabulous brunch that had cheddar grits at the buffet. They were so delicious that I was anxious to try them at home. I was anxious to try this one, as Ina is one of my favorites. As they were cooking, I kept tasting them and they were delicious, but felt the cooking time was a bit long at 45 minutes. When...

Reviewed cajun chicken pasta

Mar 19, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I was so excited to try this recipe, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. For one, my sauce never thickened, even after adding cornstarch. This made for a very sloppy dish to eat, as it was splashing everywhere. Secondly, it completely lacked flavor, any flavor. I would have never imagined this, considering all the flavorful ingredients....

Reviewed cinnamon baked doughnuts

Mar 14, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

As this episode was airing, I was online with Amazon ordering a doughnut pan. They are to die for!!! I did not think the texture was dense at all. I dipped half in the cinnamon/sugar coating as Ina did and the half in melted chocolate. The nutmeg flavor really comes out. Both were very yummy and I can see making these and serving them for breakfast...

Reviewed crispy mustard-roasted chicken

Mar 14, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

It really surprised me to see this recipe wasn't rated 5 stars. I thought it was one of the best chicken dishes I've ever prepared. I didn't find it salty at all, although I only use Himalayan Sea Salt in everything and perhaps that makes a difference. I used boneless chicken breasts and coated the whole piece in the wine mixture and coated only...

Reviewed mashed yellow turnips with crispy shallots

Mar 13, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This was a very good side dish and I gave it only four stars because my shallots burned after following the directions precisely. It was a waste of a fair amount of good olive oil. Other than that, the puree tasted fantastic. I ended up dicing another shallot and sauted it in some butter and used that as my topper. I think shallots are definitely...

These did not turn out the way they should have. I added a few drops of liquid stevia and 1/2 T of chia seeds. I spread it out on parchment sprayed with a little coconut oil. Mine baked for under five hours and the color was a really dark red. When I went to cut them in strips, it all broke into pieces. The layer must have been spread too thin....

Reviewed wheatberry salad

I didn't care for the taste or consistency of this at all. I tend to use ricotta cheese in dishes like lasagna, but thought it would somehow be good with the other ingredients in this parfait. I completely wasted my money.

I watched the episode this morning and couldn't wait to make these. They were delicious with all the substitution and I will now be anxious to try them with the...

I have made these before using different oven temperatures and this one worked out well. When preparing the kale, be sure to keep it in the largest clumps possible because they shrivel drastically to almost nothing. I also used a spray olive oil to give a more even and lighter coating.
