"Okay, I haven't made this yet, but it sounds wonderful. I have a comment about the sugar conversion. I looked it up on the Internet and 1 pound of sugar equals 2 1/4 cups. Therefore, for the recipe (1.25 pounds), the sugar needed would be a tad over 2 3/4. I would use 2 3/4 cups PLUS 2 tablespoons of sugar in this recipe. The exact calculation is 1.25 (pounds x 2.25 (number of cups in one pound of sugar = 2.8125 cups of sugar needed.

I also noticed the first person to post the conversion also got the same answer that I did.

"Okay, I haven't made this yet, but it sounds wonderful. I have a comment about the sugar conversion. The person who said 2 1/2 cups was incorrect in her conversion. I looked it up on the Internet and 1 pound of sugar is 2 1/4 cups. Therefore, for the recipe (1.25 pounds) the sugar needed would be a tad over 2 3/4 (2.75) cups. It's almost 3 cups needed.

The first person who did the conversion did it correctly, and got the same answer I did.
