Reviewed "Mock" Garlic Mashed Potatoes
"Wow, just, wow! Have given up the nastier carbs, including potatoes, but was looking for a good substitute. Made this tonight, minus the butter at the end, and it was simple and delicious! Reviewed Three Cheese Hot Artichoke Dip
"Brought this for a New Year's party and 2 of my skinny friends devoured it, couldn't leave it alone or stop raving about it, despite the 20 other apps that were there.
I didn't put in the green onions, but did add several cloves of garlic, minced and some ground black pepper. The garlic adds a deeper, richer flavour to it, though it would probably still be amazing without it. I also used asiago cheese instead of parm, romano would also be a good sub. Doubled the recipe and served it in a mini-crockpot instead of heating it in the oven, so it stayed gooey-hot for the few hours it lasted.
I'm not a hot sauce fan, but wouldn't skip it - same with the worchester sauce - all about flavour layering, and Paula knew what she was doing with this recipe.
Absolutely *love* this dip!"
