Reviewed Paradise Macaroons
"Delicious! Kind of tastes like an almond joy actually. Alton's recipes never fail!""
Reviewed Red Velvet Brains Cupcakes
"I don't know why this recipe has such mixed reviews but giving the overwhelming number of positive to negative reviews I gave the recipe a try.
I literally had little puddles of oil underneath the cupcake holders when I took them out of the pan. I pulled them apart and they looked incredible oily. I'm from Utah- maybe there is something about th""
Reviewed Pork Chops Stuffed with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Spinach
"I have to agree and disagree with the last review. I used fresh spinach that I cooked down because it doesn't get stringy like frozen spinach. I also let the pan get really hot before I put the chops on and they get a wonderful sear on them.
I also recommend putting a little bit of the sauce in the pan once you flip the pork chops- then I cover t""

Reviewed Bobby Flay's Pumpkin Pie with Cinnamon Crunch and Bourbon-Maple Whipped Cream
"Beautiful creamy texture to the pie and the cinnamon crunch does just what it's name suggests- gives the pie a good crunch! Love, love, love. It's just not quite your normal pumpkin pie. Doesn't need the bourbon- just regular whipping cream and a little sugar!""
Reviewed Pecan Pie
"I used my own crust recipe, but the filling was awesome (I nixed the bourbon though because I didn't have it in my pantry and added a little extra vanilla) and layered beautifully after cooking. It definitely got rave reviews from my in-laws and my husband this year!""
Reviewed Chipotle Shrimp Taco with Avocado Salsa Verde
"Double the avocado and half the amount of salt in the salsa verde. Double the amount of shrimp- I echo a previous comment that they turn opaque, not translucent (I also did 1/2 tsp. chipotle rub and 1/2 tsp. chili powder- SO GOOD!). Serve with black beans and spanish rice (made in the rice cooker! and then I would give this 5 stars. That is all th""
Reviewed Peach Cobbler
"My husband has had a lot of different peach cobblers and he said this is the best he has ever had! Instead of self-rising flour I added baking soda and salt to regular flour and it worked out great. ""
About Me
I love when people visit because that means I get to make lots of wonderful things for them to eat!
I love cooking all types of food but my passion leans towards breads and desserts. I also run in triathlons to stay fit and not gain a lot of weight from all the good stuff I make.
A tradition we have tried to implement in our family is learning how to make different ethnic foods at home so we will be able to educate our children about other cultures without having to visit a restaurant. It makes for a lot of interesting experiments but we are working out the kinks. My husband lived in Thailand for two years so Thai food is our favorite foreign cuisine- he makes it so well!
Favorite Foods
Way too hard to decide.... bread, our homemade veggie pizza, chocolate peanut butter mousse pie, thai food... those are the things that I make the most often anyway. :)
