I don't know why this recipe has such mixed reviews but giving the overwhelming number of positive to negative reviews I gave the recipe a try.

I literally had little puddles of oil underneath the cupcake holders when I took them out of the pan. I pulled them apart and they looked incredible oily. I'm from Utah- maybe there is...

Reviewed Pork Chops Stuffed with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Spinach

Dec 3, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I have to agree and disagree with the last review. I used fresh spinach that I cooked down because it doesn't get stringy like frozen spinach. I also let the pan get really hot before I put the chops on and they get a wonderful sear on them.

I also recommend putting a little bit of the sauce in the pan once you flip the pork chops-...

Reviewed Bobby Flay's Pumpkin Pie with Cinnamon Crunch and Bourbon-Maple Whipped Cream

Nov 25, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Beautiful creamy texture to the pie and the cinnamon crunch does just what it's name suggests- gives the pie a good crunch! Love, love, love. It's just not quite your normal pumpkin pie. Doesn't need the bourbon- just regular whipping cream and a little sugar!""

I used my own crust recipe, but the filling was awesome (I nixed the bourbon though because I didn't have it in my pantry and added a little extra vanilla) and layered beautifully after cooking. It definitely got rave reviews from my in-laws and my husband this year!""

Reviewed Chipotle Shrimp Taco with Avocado Salsa Verde

Nov 2, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Double the avocado and half the amount of salt in the salsa verde. Double the amount of shrimp- I echo a previous comment that they turn opaque, not translucent (I also did 1/2 tsp. chipotle rub and 1/2 tsp. chili powder- SO GOOD!). Serve with black beans and spanish rice (made in the rice cooker! and then I would give this 5 stars. That is all t...

My husband has had a lot of different peach cobblers and he said this is the best he has ever had! Instead of self-rising flour I added baking soda and salt to regular flour and it worked out great. ""

This recipe won me the Grand Prize at my City Baking Competition! I couldn't believe how fast and easy and YUMMY this was. I heated my Guitard chocolate in the microwave and stirred it after every 30-60 seconds which was faster than the double broiler. I didn't melt it all the way but most of the way- then stirred until completely melted which mad"

Reviewed Blueberry Almond Breakfast Tart

Jun 25, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I've only made this crust when doing my own variation of a blueberry tart and I've found that the crust is ridiculously fragile. I used a whole egg instead of just the yoke which helped bind it together better.

I also tried to weight it down to bake it and the top of the crust came off on my tin foil so I just poke it, freeze it,...

Reviewed 3-in-1 Sugar Cookies

Feb 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I read the reviews that there was a problem with the dough being crumbly. To remedy this I used extra large eggs and added one egg white instead of just the two egg yolks. This helped to bind the cookies together and add moisture. I also added some milk which added moisture. With these additions the dough was easy to handle and came out soft and delicious....

I'm sorry to say I really didn't like this recipe. It really coated my mouth and I dumped most of it. I used Lindt chocolate and maybe it would have been better if I had used another kind. I did like the texture though.

My husband keeps asking for this dish over and over again! Very tasty and easy- I've made it with cut up Hillshire Farm sausage and ground Italian and both are good although we have decided that we prefer the ground Italian. I also have never made it with the fresh moz. chunks- we make it with the shredded so it gets all melty and cheesy. :)

Really, really flavorful! I didn't follow the exact potion instructions because I was using up leftover artichokes, tomatoes and chicken breasts and I kind of made it on a whim because I had all the ingredients. Really delicious and moist- my husband LOVED it. It was good with both the vinegar sauce and BBQ although I preferred the BBQ. My blender wouldn't blend up all the peppercorns so my roast had little black balls all over it but it was still delicious and biting into one wasn't that bad. I also substituted allspice for cloves because I was out of cloves....
