Keeper. I used 2 cups corn meal and 2 cups flour, based on other tips. Subbed buttermilk for whole milk, because I had some on hand.

A great dish to grill at the beach; my husband said it was better than our dinner out last night. Substituted tamarind with apricot preserves, as suggested by other reviews. I got mixed up and bought a shallot instead of scallions. Didn't want to waste, so used chopped shallots and thought it was very tasty."
