My Activity

Reviewed Avocado Salad with Tomatoes, Lime, and Toasted Cumin Vinaigrette

"This was different, the cumin seeds were a little over-powering, next time I'd cut them by half. It may have been the toasting of them. I also cut the oil and added some garlic. "

Reviewed Sauteed Kale

"This was very good and easy, too. I used chicken broth for more body and also added some shallots when sauteing the garlic. For the vinegar I used a star apple vinegar. Also added some crushed red pepper flakes - can't figure out why Bobby Flay didn't want some kick in this dish. Will be making this again."

Reviewed Braised Napa Cabbage with Bacon, Red Wine Vinegar, and Mint

"This was good. I did everything on the stove, which was good as there was so much liquid. I followed others, and used less vinegar and omitted the mint. Dish reminded me of red cabbage dish. Next time may try to add beer vs chicken stock. "

Reviewed Frittata

"This was easy, fast, and ellegant. Prep may take a little while; but you can prepare everything ahead of time, clean up and then throw it together with little or no effort. Like everyone said, use whatever you have on hand and a great way to repurpose leftovers. Watch the video and it will be a snap to make !!!! Thanks AB

Reviewed Oysters Rockefeller

"This was great - my husband made them - I only know he did use white wine vs pernod and parsley vs chervil. Will keep this recipe for next time. Wish there was an easier way to open the oysters."

Reviewed Smothered Pork Chops

"This was great and quick. My changes were to brine the chops first. Then I added some mushrooms, shallots, capers, and chopped sun dried tomatoes to the sauce. It was truly yummie and I'll be making it again. "

Reviewed Grilled Cedar Plank Salmon with Yellow Pepper Saffron Sauce

"I only prepared the sauce. Which is great. Not an overpowering saffron flavor. Everyone loved it. Just remember only to use peppers that are yellow, red and/or orange. Once you add that green pepper to the mixture - it tastes good; but looks like baby poop; therefore, unappealing. "

Reviewed Salmon with Lemon, Capers, and Rosemary

"Much better than I expected, was afraid to use the Marsala wine - but it was great. Didn't leave a strong Marsala flavor - just a good flavor. I used 1/2 rosemary and 1/2 thyme. Also kept the fillets whole and put on large cooking sheet, covered with aluminum foil and baked. Used this for dinner guests and everyone loved it. It was easy and q"
