My Activity

Reviewed Chicken Marsala

"Fantastic fast dinner. For a weeknight dinner it was really fancy. Chicken was super moist and absorbed all the flavor. Year ago I found this chicken marsala recipe. But it was always a hit or miss with it...sometimes perfect...sometimes sweet...too time consuming. However this recipe is so fast and easy and good that I wonder why I bothered with the other recipe which was painful to make.
If you want to impress someone and don't have enough time....make this!

Reviewed Smothered Pork Chops

"My first time making pork chops. I did not tell anyone until people ate and they were surprised. I followed the recipe as is and came out perfect even for a rookie like me! Thanks Tyler, you made me look like I knew what I was doing!

Reviewed Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Pork Chop with Cider Gravy, Sauteed Apples and Onions

"Excellante! We loved it. Pork chops with the apply gravy on top was perfect. Very quick recipe...easy weeknight dinner. Plus I liked how Rachael sequenced the recipe so by the time I am done I have a complete dinner ready....not just one main dish with no side dish.
About the sweet potatoes....chicken broth? Really? I added and realized that it made it way too liquidy. So I poured it out. I added almond extract instead and some 4 to 5 giant marsh mellows....yummy.

Reviewed Chicken with Wild Mushroom and Balsamic Cream Sauce

"Turned out good. Made it with bow tie pasta. Boyfriend loved it. Even my bf's 3 year old ate it without fuss. Will definitely repeat.

Reviewed Barefoot Carrot Salad

"It was okay. I liked it. Boyfriend did not. Then again he is not a fan of coleslaw type of salads. A little on the sweeter side. Definitely makes more servings than what the recipe suggests. I am planning to eat it for dinner for 1 week....is that safe?

Reviewed Arugula, Watermelon and Feta Salad

"Really good summer salad. Although it is November I made it anyhow...it was a warm day and was a perfect salad.....very refreshing. The mint and watermelon did the trick. The feta was a good contrast to the fruit and the hint of mint in every bite was heavenly. I ate the leftovers the next morning. Ummmm...ummm. Tnx Ina.

About Me

Hi Everyone!

It's been over 7 months since I have been whipping up dinners with online recipes - specially foodnetwork. Just to give you an idea of what's my level - I never cooked anything when growing up...even after I grew up.......mum did most of the cooking...she is soooo good that I never dare try - it would turn out horrible....I ate out mostly....and if someone ever asked me what do you cook for dinner - my answer would be sandwiches!!! So what changed me - my new boyfriend. :-) He comes from an Itlatian family and is an excellent cook. And like any new girlfriend I felt the need to satisfy my man with fancy dinners. Man what a journey it has been....great dinners ....messed up dinners.....bad recipes.....fussing and stressing about perfect dinners. Then one day my boyfriend complained that I put too much pressure on myself to make things right and he will eat anything even if it is burnt!!! Aaah....doesn't he love me. Honestly I think he just forgot his earplugs that day and had it on all other times when I felt the need to analyze my just prepared dinner on a PhD level.

Anywho, it took a huge pressure off of me and I started getting bold with fancy recipes. I realized that I really enjoy cooking specially when they come out really good (duh!). I am looking forward to many years of happy cooking! :-)

Luv,

CookieMonstr
