Reviewed Chocolate Frosting

Feb 24, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was good but not great. A bit too sweet for me and not enough chocolate. The balance wasn't there. I'll be tweaking it though, maybe adding some instant coffee to give it a little extra depth."

I can see where, if followed exactly, this could be a little bland. I added red pepper flakes at the same time as the garlic (plus a lot of extra garlic) and a little worcestershire sauce & ketchup (yes, ketchup because I had no tomato paste) and it turned out great! I also added a quarter cup of sour cream because I like it creamier. It's a grea...

I am only rating the chutney here, as I used a pork tenderloin. Wow, it is fantastic! I used jalapeno pepper instead of the pepper that the recipe called for because I couldn't find it, and I only used one. It was the perfect amount of heat. My only complaint is that I have a ton of left over chutney and I don't know what to use it for...for ...

I needed to make everything ahead of time, so technically it's not all assembled, but holy cow this dressing is to die for! I'm dipping pieces of the roasted squash into the dressing and I can't stop!! I'm 100 percent positive that all together, this salad will blow my family away tonight (that is if there is any left for me to assemble!) Thanks...

WOW! This is simply delicious! I didn't use red onion, instead I used shallots. The dressing is simple, yet flavorful. I added about 1 tsp. of adobo sauce from the chipotle peppers to the dressing, just to kick the spice up a little. ""

Six days later...again, not overly excited about this one! After some thought, I decided my olive oil was too bitter. So, I used 1/2 evoo and canola...better, not bitter, but flavor didn't POP like I wanted it to. Added some fresh grated parm/reg and marinated my chicken it it. I'm not giving up on this recipe, though, I know it can be great..."

Holey moley, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet! It is wonderful! I've been making this for years and I always have requests for the recipe. I make it early in the day, so the flavors can soak into those beans and corn, but I steal bites from the bowl all day long! The dressing was way too bitter at first. Not sure why, I followed the recipe exactly, except I did not use the anchovies. I added a little bit of agave to cut the bitternes and it was better. Maybe the garlic was bad, not really sure...it's puzzling. Otherwise, it was a good recipe. Grilled some chicken with smoked paprika, s&p. and served it wit"

Well, I tried to make this even healthier by using all white meat turkey breast and it was pretty good. I used a heavy amount of Greek seasoning knowing how bland turkey is and a little olive oil as well to moisten it up. I used parmesan on one of them and thought it was better than the feta (and I love feta). I'll be making this again, but tweaki"

I'm just commenting on the horseradish sauce here...it was very bland!
