Reviewed Growing Oatmeal Bowl

"I have never ever EVER liked oatmeal. It's a texture issue for me. However, I LOVE this recipe and I can finally eat oatmeal using this recipe! I cook the oatmeal so that it is a bit firmer in texture, and the added fruits and creamy texture keep it from being soft and slimey! Thanks Lisa! I eat this every other day and am full until lunchtime!""

Reviewed Grilled Corn and Bean Salad

"This salad will be served at the upoming University of Oregon at University of Arizona game on Sept 24, 2011. It's a perfect combination of Duck colors! I will take the advice of bakingdiva87 and add cilantro...extra green, and will use Trader Joe's frozen roasted corn for extra ease and yellow, you know! GO DUCKS and thanks Brian! "

Reviewed Holy Moly Guacamole

"I made this for dinner tonight. My daughter and I are trying to eat healthier and have enjoyed many of the Hungry Girl recipes. We've been very happy with every dish we have tried. This guacamole is very very good. The texture is a little different than if only avacados were used, but just knowing that it is as good for you as it is, and that "

About Me

I am an active and young "grammy" who spends more than 60 hours each week working at the local children's hospital. I teach resident pediatricians and new parents about brain development of infants and toddlers. I help both groups learn what babies and toddlers do at certain ages and about what behaviors we expect to see along the way, and help them relate behaviors to a child's developing brain.

I am extremely passionate about my work and am one of those who can say I dearly love to get up in the morning, hit the road for a one hour commute and can't wait to get to my office and start! When I look at the clock at the end of the very long day, I can't believe that 12 hours have passed!

I do need to unplug from my work and enjoy my husband (I just call him my prince) and my adult son, his wife, my adult daughter, her doggie (my granddog!) and my two beautiful granddaughters (lights of my life). One thing we all love to do together is cook. Those who don't enjoy the cooking so much do enjoy the consumption segment of the production!

Recently, my husband and I have become interested in pairing foods with wine from all over the world. Being a native of Oregon I don't have to look much farther to find the perfect wine for my foods...I love Pinots!!!!! mmmmm!

I am also an avid scrapbooker and love using rubber stamps to make pages and cards. I want to leave a legacy of memories for my granddaughters and I want them to treasure the moments with Grammy, making recipes and making memories. I am fortunate that I have many cooking memories with my grandmothers and want those memories to someday comfort my granddaughters as my memories comfort me.
