My Activity

Reviewed Pork Chops with Apples and Pancetta

"Delicious! We halved the recipe since we only used two pork chops, but it was flavorful and easy to do. We did simmer the chops about 15 minutes rather than the 10 - 12 listed in recipe and put a lid on the pot, too, while the chops simmered in the sauce. Overall, excellent dish and a keeper!""

Reviewed Dried Cherry Almond Scones

"Yum, yum yum! I used craisins instead of the cherries (since I didn't have cherries at the time) and used cinnamon/sugar grinder McCormick for the sugar on top. I made one batch a while back but froze half of the unbaked dough; defrosted the disc yesterday, and this morning, dusted the wedges with the sugar and popped them in the oven. What a g""

Reviewed Grandma Hiers' Carrot Cake

"A friend had carrot cake for her wedding cake, and she often talked about how wonderful it was--and how she never had a carrot cake that tasted like it since. Reviewed Grandma Paul's Sand Tarts

"My mother used to make sand tarts with one walnut placed carefully on top of a rolled-out star shape. Not my favorite cookie. So last Christmas, I made Paula's recipe (taking care to let the cookies cool a little before sprinkling with powdered sugar) and gave them to my mother. She loved them! So much that she asked me to make these cookies for h""

Reviewed Old-Time Beef Stew

"Delicious! We added potatoes with the carrots and celery, and thickened the liquid by making a roux with butter and flour, then added stew liquid and returned it to the stew. Perfectly done! As a bonus, we put the stew into individual bowls and topped them with pie crust, then baked them at 400 degrees until brown, and had beef pie. Thank you, Pau""

Reviewed Classic Crisco® Pie Crust

"I've been using the Crisco recipe since I found an apple pie recipe at my grandmother's house in 1975--the only change I've made is switching to Butter-Flavored Crisco. This is the absolute best and easiest pie crust to make!
