Reviewed deep-fried pickles

Jan 24, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

These were very easy and tasted great. You have to start with a good pickle, otherwise there is no point in trying this recipe. We made them with both dill pickles and bread and butter pickles. People liked one or the other based on their preference in the pickle. Look forward to making this recipe again.

Reviewed Spaghetti alla Carbonara

Jan 13, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This is such a great and easy recipe. I look forward to making it again. I doubled the recipe for a crowd, and other than making sure I had a big enough bowl to mix the spaghetti, everything worked perfect.

Reviewed Cornbread Sticks

Dec 20, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

Oh my! These were so good. I made them in a mini muffin pan instead of the corn shaped cast iron, just because I was making them for a crowd, and I only have one corn shaped cast iron pan. I sprayed the mini muffin pan with some Pam (the olive oil kind) and they popped right out of the pan after they baked. Everyone loved, loved, loved them. We will...

My family and I love this recipe. We actually mix the "topping" into the sweet potato before we bake it, and it gives the whole dish a nice crunchy bite throughout. It has become a regular on our Thanksgiving menu.

My family and I love this recipe. It is so easy to do and tastes delicious. We plan to add it to the Thanksgiving menu this year. I've tried it with both heavy cream and light cream. Tastes great either way. I used an immersion blender to puree everything right in the pot. Comes out great, smooth, with just a little bit of texture. I love the sour"

Apr 19, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

For once, I followed the recipe as is. The shrimp tasted so good! Only variation we made was the lettuce at the end. Instead of serving on lettuce, we used warmed soft corn tortillas and made tacos with shrimp, spinach, spring mix lettuce, shredded carrot, and a squeeze of lime. They were a big hit. Everyone loved, loved, loved them. My sist"

Reviewed Polenta Squares with Mushroom Ragu

Jan 31, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I have to say, that this recipe was good enough that I would make it again, with a little adjustment.

First, I had leftover polenta squares, so I pan fried them. What a difference. I will definitely be frying again.

Second, I would add some parmesan to the ragu for a little salt and flavor, instead of the salt...

Reviewed Deep-Fried Turkey

Jan 31, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this fried turkey recipe for Thanksgiving, along with my usual Good Eats Roast Turkey. They were both 14-pound birds. I can't say how good the fried turkey tasted warm, as it was all gone before I got a chance to fill my plate. Luckily there was some meat left on the carcass. All I can say is, "How soon before we can fry another turkey?" &...

Jun 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a great recipe for a quick and simple side dish. It almost felt like a risotto, but a lot easier. I skipped the salt because the parmesan added enough saltiness to the dish. Everyone loved it, and I will definitely be making it again."

Reviewed Mini Onion Quiches

Apr 21, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a great go-to recipe. Everyone loves them, and they are so easy. Instead of green onion, we use finely chopped red onion. We also add a pinch of nutmeg. They are also great make-ahead appetizers. I make them ahead of time and keep them refrigerated. When we are ready to eat, I just reheat them in a 300°F oven for 10 minutes, and they"

This was a great marinade. Everything tasted great. Instead of the cast iron servers, I just cooked my chicken in the George Foreman Grill. Didn't look as cool, but it sure tasted good."

I didn't have any garlic powder for the house seasoning, so I just replaced the house seasoning with Adobo. It worked just great. Turned out to be some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. "

I made this recipe without the wine, and it still tasted amazing. Also, since I had a lot of dill on hand from my garden, I only used the dill. I had 4 people ask me for the recipe the next day. This recipe is versatile and can be adapted to any taste.

I started making my Thanksgiving turkey using this recipe a few years ago. I got rave reviews for it then, and everyone still loves it now. The turkey tastes great on Thanksgiving, and the leftovers are just as juicy and delicious as the first day you make it. I will never make turkey without a brine again. It may take more prep time, but it is...
