Delicious! I changed the recipe a little, after reading reviews (and checking my pantry)- I used unbleached all purpose flour (no whole wheat) and 4 Tblsp of butter instead of the 3 Tblsp of vegetable shortening. I used 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white, and added about a Tblsp of molasses. Extremely moist, came out of the pan easily after cooling...

This is a great recipe! My only addition would be to pre-soak the chicken in salted water overnight BEFORE soaking it in the buttermilk! This 'purifies' the chicken and really does make a difference! (Thanks, Martha!)"
