"When I was little my Mom made these only for Thanksgiving. I loved them and called them "orange mashed potatoes". Funny thing was, she told me they were turnips. When I took over the huge family crowd for the feast, I went out and bought turnips. They were great, but I couldn't figure out why they wern't ORANGE! I will add the ham hocks next time I make them. Otherwise, the recipes are the same. Thanks for helping to bring back the memories."
